Lady Delia ~~~
"Forgive me if I speak out of term...but you are in fact the half-blood prince?"
"Yes, I am. Is that a problem?" Sebastian questioned
His posture straightened and he quirked an eyebrow as if willing me to challenge him. His deep hazel eyes looked directly in mine rather than focusing on my body. I was disappointed at that fact. I would most likely have to woo this prince with intellect rather than sexual appeal. No doubt the prince found me attractive yet his eyes never wandered.
"Not at all," I smiled and took a sip of champagne feeling the fizz in the pit of my belly along with another sensation.
I looked around the ballroom noticing how many other women would glance discreetly in our direction. Some had glares while others looked unfazed as if I wasn't a form of competition.
Good. Let them think that.
All of a sudden many of the expressions changed. They were still facing toward us but it wasn't at us.
"Wow," Sebastian whispered
I looked at him but he had turned slightly. I turned toward the direction he was looking and saw Serenity.
She walked down the staircase next to a pretty brunette in an orange gown. I narrowed my eyes at Serenity who looked, unfortunately, very beautiful. She wore a simple white gown with gold trim and detailing. She unlike everyone else wore a more modest dress that hardly showed her curves yet it wasn't unappealing.
I grinded my teeth as she walked onto the ballroom and immediately went to the Queen.
I hadn't thought of that and apparently neither had every other woman. We'd all approached the princes in a way that if we had gotten their attention they might pick us. I hadn't thought of the mother. I knew Queen Cassandra would tell the other princes families of each eligible woman but I hadn't thought of going to her and getting a better chance if she had liked me. Although I knew already she would like me for her son. However I'd taken a keen interest to the Mer-Prince.
I glanced at him not at all surprised he was watching Serenity. She was gorgeous enough to attract men but I had the means to keep them and this prince isn't getting out of my grasp.

Prince Patrick ~~~
"She looks beautiful, eh?" Aidan commented as he stood next to me
I ignored him and took a drink of champagne. I watched Serenity walk over to my mother and bow. She did look beautiful. But I wasn't going to tell him that.
"Patrick are you ever going to tell me why you're ignoring me?"
When you stop kissing the girls I want.
Even if she wasn't mine. She was a mermaid.
I chuckled. Fallen for a mermaid, what a stroke that would give my father if he knew I was infatuated with a mermaid princess. But I wasn't going to tell him that either.
I sighed heavily and looked at my boots
"Patrick-" he began before he was interrupted
"Excuse me, I believe we met a few days ago, I don't know if you remember me."
It was one of the girls my mother had introduced us to. The one with white blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. I remember her being beautiful and she looked even more beautiful in the violet colored dress that made her eyes seem more a deep blue.
"What was your name again?" I asked
"Odette," she smiled
"Hello, love, would you care to dance?" I asked holding out my hand
