Meredith stopped by her house to grab some clothes and put on some makeup. What she really needed was hot dirty sex. She didn't know what was going on in her head right now but what she knew was what could clear her head. Maybe it was a little whorish to go to a bar looking for sex to clear her head, but she really didn't care. If men could go to a bar looking for whory women to pick up, then she could go to a bar looking for whory men to pick up.

She took a cab to the bar because she had all intentions of drinking a significant amount of tequila tonight. Her mind was still racing over the fact that Dr. Derek Shepherd had gone easy on her. He had still been a complete asshole, but he could have, and usually was significantly worse. When she had first started at Seattle Grace Hospital, she had liked the man. She had heard of him before she started there. He had been New York's neurosurgical prince. Everyone raved about him, how great he was. And the first day she saw him, she definitely had believed them.

He had been sitting at the cafeteria when she had walked in and said some dark quip about wanting to kill a patient, and he had laughed. It was a full, wonderful laugh that made her smile. She had turned to him and saw his sparkly blue eyes staring at her with a small smile on his lips. That was the first and last time she had seen him smile or laugh, and a part of her longed to hear it again. It was stupid. She knew it was stupid to want to hear your asshole boss laugh, but she just couldn't help it. But instead of thinking about his sparkly eyes, she was going to go to a bar with her best friend and find some hot dude to sleep with.

She walked into Joe's and saw Cristina sitting at the bar with two empty shot glasses in front of her. Meredith walked up to her and sat down between Cristina and a slouched over man.

"I see you started without me." Meredith laughed.

"I did. Though you probably need it more than I do saying you have to work with Dr. Monster for the rest of the week."

Meredith could sense the man next to her shifting, but she turned away from him. She hadn't seen his face but she sensed he seemed very sad. So even though he had a great body, she didn't want to take advantage of sad guy.

"I still don't understand why he went easy on me."

"Who knows why he does anything? He is evil and soulless."

Meredith paused for a second, "Not soulless."

"Meredith. Why are you defending Dr. Monster?"

"I am not defending Dr. Monster, he is an asshole by any standards. But he has a soul."

"How could you possibly know that?"

Meredith blushed a little at the question because she didn't know how to respond. How could she tell her best friend that she saw 'his soul through his sparkly eyes.' Even saying that made her want to throw up.

"Meredith Grey." Cristina stated. "Do you have a thing for Dr. Monster?"

Meredith heard the man next to her shift a bit.

"No. absolutely not." She answered quickly. "He is an asshole."

"He is a hot asshole." Cristina said still staring at Meredith suspiciously.

"A very hot asshole." Meredith said with a small smile. "And when he's not being an asshole he's-"

"When has he not been asshole?"

"Excuse me ladies," interrupted a tall man with blond hair. "Can I buy you a drink?"

"Nope, because you are bringing me home." Cristina said as she stood up and grabbed his hand.

"Oh am I?" He said with a smirk.

"Yes." Cristina said abruptly as she dragged him out of the bar, leaving Meredith alone.

"So, Dr. Monster?" The man next to her asked as he looked up.

Oh god. It was him. It was the man she had to work with for the next week. He had heard all of what they said. Her life was over. All the, going easy on her, was over. She geared herself up for the yelling. Telling herself that nothing he could say could get to her. He was just a guy, nothing he said could be worse than what he mother has said to her.

"I am so sorry sir." Meredith said holding her breath.

"It's fine, accurate even." He said as he drank the rest of his scotch and ordered another.

"I am still sorry." She responded quietly.

"At least I am not soulless." He gave a weak smile.

"Definitely not." She responded with a grin.

"I shouldn't have yelled at you today."

"It's fine. Well, not it's not. It would be fine if you told me why you are behaving like a rabid animal."

"Monster. I like monster better than rabid animal." Derek said with a small laugh. "You really want to hear this story."

"I am curious, and most people just think you're soulless but we have already decided that's not the truth."

"Well it's not a nice story."

"Neither is mine." She responded quietly.

"Ok fine. A little over a month ago, I was in New York with my four sisters, mother, best friend, and wife. My life wasn't perfect but it was a hell of a lot better than it is now. So one day, I came home from work and entered my house and something was different. Everything was the same but something felt different. I walked up the stairs and towards my bedroom. Then I stepped on a mans jacket. Except it wasn't just a man's jacket, it was man's jacket that I recognized. It was my best friends jacket. So I opened my bedroom door and saw my naked best friend, inside of my naked wife. So I packed up my things and moved to Seattle. I haven't spoken to either of them or my family since. I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it."

"I'm so sorry." Meredith said as she slowly placed her hand on his arm.

"It's- I just don't know what to do."

"Well you can't continue what you're doing."

He smirked at her. "No I can't."

"Good. That will make my week significantly better." She looked down at her hand that was still on his arm. He slowly put his other hand over hers. She tore her eyes away from their hands and looked up at his face. His eyes met hers and he leaned slightly forward. She stood up from her stool and pressed her lips against his. He deepened their kiss for a few seconds until she pulled away. Their faces were still inches away from each other.

"Bathroom?" Meredith asked.

"What?" He asked confused.

"You, me, bathroom?"

"oh, OH. Yes."

They both stood up and walked to the bathroom, locking the door behind them. She pushed him against the door and kissed him hard. She placed her arms around his neck as he placed his hands on her ass. They separated momentarily and he pulled up on her top and unclasped her bra.

"Wow." He mumbled as she smirked and pulled off his sweater and unbuttoned his shirt.

"Off off." She said quickly as she fumbled at his pants tugging them off and his boxers underneath. "Wow." She pulled down her own pants and underwear. He bent down quickly and put his hands behind her thighs. He pulled her up and pressed her against the door.

"Fuck me." She whispered as he slowly entered her. "Oh god."

He thrusted into her repeatedly until both of their legs were wobbly in a post-orgasmic haze. After they separated, Meredith quickly put on her clothes trying to understand why she had just made the stupidest decision ever.

"Dr. Grey."

"Oh god. We aren't even on a first name basis. You're my boss. I just slept with my boss. My boss who everyone hates. Oh god. How could I be so stupid?" She said as she slipped out of the bathroom and left.
