chapter 27

"Addison," Meredith said as she entered her office, "Would you like to come to a girls night tonight?"

"What?"

"At my house tonight, Dr. Yang and Dr. Stevens will be there."

"And you want me to come?" She asked.

"Yep." Meredith breathed.

"Why?"

"I like you and you seem kind of down lately."

"Because you are dating me husband."

"Yes but I was thinking we could avoid that subject tonight."

"Will there be alcohol for the non-pregnant people?" She asked.

"I don't know how well you know Cristina Yang, but she definitely would not show up if there wasn't alcohol."

Addison smiled, "My type of girl."

"So are you going to be there?"

"Sure, just give me a time and your address."

Meredith wrote her address out on a post-it and handed it to her, "See you tonight at seven."

"You really invited her?" Cristina asked.

"Yes."

"Well this is going to be awkward." Izzie said.

"It's not going to be awkward." Meredith said. "And it's not like you can do something about it now because she is going to show up any second. Oh also, try not to talk about Derek."

Cristina laughed.

"Mer, how are you going to spend a whole night not talking about him?" Izzie asked

"I can do it. I will talk about the baby. She is an OB, she likes talking about pregnancies." Meredith shrugged.

"Oh great, girls night is now a mommy and me session."

"Come on, you can't actually think that Addison will be boring. She slept with both McSteamy while married to McDreamy. That not something a boring person would do."

There was a knock at the door and Meredith sprung up to answer it.

"Hi, I brought wine. Well. Not for you I guess. For everyone else." Addison said nervously.

"Don't worry about it, I am very content with my sparkling cider. Come on in." She said as she gestured for Addison to enter.

"You have a nice place." Addison said awkwardly.

"Oh thanks." Meredith responded as they walking into the living room.

"Dr. Montgomery." Cristina greeted.

"Addison is fine." She said. "You're um- Cristina Yang right?"

"Yea, I haven't been on your service yet. I've been avoiding the vagina squad."

"The vagina squad?"

"You know, OB, babies and stuff. Not my thing."

"I'm a neonatal surgeon. One of five one the west coast. I've pioneered several procedures."

"Still not as cool as cardio."

"Cristina, You should see Addison in surgery. It's amazing." Izzie said.

"Thanks Izzie." Addison responded.

"Maybe I will have you on case where I need to do surgery on a baby heart, in the womb."

Cristina perked up. "You do that."

"Yep." Addison smirked. "Try doing cardio on heart the size of a coin."

"That's the most badass thing I've ever heard of."

"I know it is." Addison said as she flipped her hair.

"I think I am in love." Cristina said with her eyes still wide at the prospect of the surgery .
