Part 2 (trimester 2)

Meredith and Derek stepped into the empty elevator and waited for the doors to close. Meredith's hand immediately found his and they intertwined their fingers.

"You know," Derek leaned towards her, "I am not sure you will be able to keep your secret much longer."

"What, that we are together?" She turned to him.

"We can keep that secret as long as you want. Although everyone already thinks we are sleeping together anyways. I was more talking about the fact that it's getting pretty easy to spot the peach."

"It is not." Meredith shook her head and placed her free hand on her stomach.

"In scrubs it's not, but you are an intern who get's changed in a locker room. People are going to start to notice."

The elevator dinged and they separated.

"So what am I supposed to say?"

"You don't have to say anything but if you want to squash any rumors, maybe you should tell a nurse or something. Or Jacobs in anesthesiology, he'll tell anyone he can."

"But what can they come up with that's worse than the truth?" She lowered her voice, "I got drunk and had a one night stand with my boss then got pregnant."

"Or you could tell them you are having a baby with your boyfriend who you are madly in love with." Derek whispered.

"That would be a lie." She smirked. "And if I am lying I might as well say I got a sperm donor or something to fill my longing womb."

"Oh. I don't think it is a lie."

"That I got a sperm donor?"

"I think you are madly in love with me." Derek corrected.

"Nope. You are madly in love with me." She said.

"I may or may not be, but you will know for sure when you tell me what I already know."

"Oh, how I wish I got a sperm donor instead." She teased.

"But seriously, are you going to tell people?"

"I might."

"You might."

Meredith glanced around at the people in the hallway, the leaned in to quickly press her lips against his.

Derek's face smiled brightly, "So we are telling people that."

"Now when people see I am pregnant, they will assume we are dating and having a child." Meredith said.

"Optimistic, but I'm happy we are public."

"Yup. I should probably tell Bailey and you should tell Richard." She ordered.

"That'll be a fun conversation." Derek laughed.

"Wanna trade?"

"Noo." He said, "Richard is definitely the easier option."

"That's what I thought."

"Oh the ex-wife is not going to be happy to hear this."

"Well you weren't happy to hear she had lived with your best friend until she moved here, so."

"Fair point. And hopefully, this will stop the winning back efforts." He said.

"Oh because having a beautiful woman trying to seduce you is so difficult for you." Meredith laughed.

"The only woman I want trying to seduce me is you." He said, kissing her forehead.

"Hmm. I just hope the news of us won't stop her from being nice to me." She said. "Her pregnancy advice has actually been very helpful."

"Addie is a lot of things, but she is not one to blame a pregnant woman for a man's decision." He said.

"I hope so. I know I am supposed to hate her for what she did to you, but she's kind of a bad-ass."

"Oh I am so glad you are a fan." Derek responded sarcastically.

"It's your fault for having incredible taste in women." Meredith teased, as they kissed goodbye to go on their separate ways for the day.
