"Hey Mer." Derek said as he collapsed into their shared bed and lightly kissed her then bent down to kiss her stomach, "Hey baby."

"You know we should really start brainstorming names." Meredith said as she repositioned herself so she was leaning on Derek's chest. "Not that 'baby' isn't a great name, but I don't want our child to end up a Dirty Dancing character."

"Dirty Dancing is a good movie."

Meredith raised her eyebrow, "You like eighties romcoms?"

"You don't?"

"Not particularly. I hated that one movie where the guy paid a girl to go out with him."

"Oh, is that Risky Business?"

"No. The one with the weird looking scrawny guy. And it ends with them riding off on a lawn mower."

"Ohhhh. You mean Can't Buy Me Love." Derek said

"Great song, terrible movie."

"What are you talking about? That movie is fabulous, and Patrick Dempsey is hot." Derek defended.

"He is not." Meredith rolled her eyes.

"This says very little for your taste in men." Derek shook his head.

"Says my boyfriend." Meredith laughed.

"I'm a momentary lapse in your bad taste." He grinned.

"You're not momentary though." Meredith said,

"No I am not." He said kissing her head. "I'm your forever proof you don't always have bad taste."

"My forever proof?" She asked.

"That is my intention." He responded.

"That's my intention too." Meredith smiled up at him.

"Well, that works out nicely."

"And you're not just doing this- cause you know- your mom said things- and basically told you to- You're already divorce. Well not actually divorced. But it's not because of baby?" Meredith rambled.

"Meredith, I love you. If we weren't having a child, I would still be madly in love with you. Well, I might still be depressed and you probably wouldn't want anything to do with me."

"Can I tell you a secret?" She leaned in closer.

"Hmm?"

"Even when you were doctor monster and a huge asshole."

"I believe you and Cristina referred to me as a hot asshole."

Meredith rolled her eyes. "The first day of my internship, I heard you laughing, and I was a little obsessed with hearing that again even if you were an asshole."

"I remember that day." Derek smiled.

"You do?"

"I remember you saying how you wanted to kill a patient." Derek said.

"Oh." Meredith winced. "That was probably not a good thing to say on your first day."

"Well I found it charming." He grinned.

"You know, maybe we should name our child Patrick. After your eighties celebrity crush." Meredith joked.

"We don't even know if it's a boy." Derek laughed.

"We could fix that." Meredith said.

"You want to find out?" Derek asked excitedly.

"I know I said I wanted to wait but picking out names would be so much easier if we knew the sex. And the doctor gave us the envelope with it written out if we ever wanted to see."
