Chapter 76

Kaoru's Pov:

Hikaru fell asleep waiting for the next pregnancy test to respond. But when it was ready it only showed one line. I let out a sigh. I felt sad? We weren't planning on having any children, anytime soon but I felt sad for some reason. Maybe seeing Midori was giving me baby fever or something. Apparently my sigh woke up Hikaru and looked at me then the pregnancy. 

"Hey... are you okay?"

"Y-yeah... I just feel a little weird."

"What's wrong."

"I- I don't know, I feel sad... but we weren't"

"Hey calm down, take a breather."

"I feel sad... even though we weren't planning on having a baby."

"So you want a baby?"

"I don't know."

He hugged me and I smiled. We got up from the floor and he went into the kitchen. He looked at the chips I got and put them in the cabinet. He grabbed my water bottle from earlier and gave it to me. I smiled at him and drunk some water. We fell back asleep. When I woke up again, I still had a sad feeling in my gut. I sighed and got up. I decided to go to my parents house. I haven't checked up on them in a while. I put on my coat and grabbed my keys and my wallet. 

Hikaru's Pov: 

I woke up with Kaoru not in the house. I called him and he answered. I sighed in relief.

"Kaoru where are you?"

"I'm with my parents is something wrong?"

"No, no I just wanted to know, anyways uh have fun."

"Okay I'll probably be home in a hour or two."

"Alright."

There was a silence, I was about to hang up when I heard him say something. 

"Love you."

My eyes widened and he hung up the phone. I blushed. We were technically just friends with benefits. We've never went on a date or said I love you before or anything couples do. We just kind of only kissed and had sex. I texted him 'I love you too'. Then I set my phone down. What was with Kaoru? Yesterday he was upset he wasn't pregnant then today he said "Love you" to me. 

I grabbed my hoodie and my phone, then I went out for a walk. The fresh air did nothing but put me more into thought. I actually had no idea if we were a couple or not. Oh he's totally gonna beat me up, if we were a couple this whole time and I thought we were friends. I got back inside and I decided to call mom.

"Hello?"

"Hey mom."

"Wassup everything alright?"

"Yeah, yeah I just um had some questions..."

"Alright talk to me son."

"I- don't know if me and Kaoru are dating..."

"Huh?"

"L-like we don't do thing couples do... and I need... help."

"Well, what brought this on?"

"He said "love you" to me out of no where this morning..."

"Hmmm call him babe later today... you'll tell by his reaction."

"Are you sure mom?"

"Are you questioning me?"

"No sir!"

"Good, is that it?"

"I- um we had another pregnancy scare yesterday... he wasn't pregnant but he said he was sad, we haven't even talked about children and he said he didn't even know why he was sad."

"Aww poor baby he's reached that stage and has no idea what to do."

"What stage?"

"Every single omega single omega has a instinct to take care of something, most omegas find that to be a baby or some omegas just want to take care of a fish. An omega could have a whole other child and still have this instinct. And some omegas, like Kaoru are oblivious so this fact so just tell him this and it seems like you guys aren't ready for a baby so maybe think about getting him some type of a pet." 

"Wow, thanks mom."

"Now, I'm kinda in a rush so I gotta go bye~"

"Bye mom."

I hung up and I was baffled. I waited for Kaoru to get home. When he got home, I started cooking breakfast. I looked at him and he walked over to me.

"Hey... how are your parents?"

"They're fine, oh I already ate."

"Oh okay, do you still feel... sad?"

"A little, I mean I found out why... it's because-"

"I found out why already..."

"Oh okay then I need to say, I- I don't want kids yet..."

"I didn't think so, down along the line right?"

"Yeah..."

There was an awkward silence before he left the kitchen. I finished cooking. I made eggs and bacon. I sat down and started eating. I was still thinking about what he said to me this morning. I started gnawing on the bacon. Kaoru came into the room moments later and looked at me confused.

"Um what are you doing?"

"Hm? I'm eating?"

"That noise, why were you making that noise?"

"Oh, I was just thinking... sorry."

He walked up to me, I looked at him confused. He grabbed my other piece of bacon and ate it. I pouted and he snickered. I took a deep breath as he chewed the bacon. 

"You could've just asked babe."

He froze and I looked at his expression. He blushed and tensed up. 

"B-babe? Y-you just called me babe. You've never called me that before."

"Y-you've never said love you to me b-before."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You- surprised me... so I did it back."

"I mean... I thought about it on the way to my parents house, we don't do or say a lot of things c-couples do... so I wanted to do more couple things."

"So we are a couple?"

"Well duh? Did you not know we were a couple?"

"No haha."

"YOU BUTTSHOT!!

He punched me then gave me a hug. I hugged him back. I finished my plate and we cuddled on the couch. 

"What do you think about getting a pet?"

"Do we have enough money to take care of a pet?"

"I'm pretty sure yeah."

"Then I want a cat... I miss Caramel."

"I know, do you want a cat like Caramel?"

"N-no I more of an orange cat."

"Okay."

We were watching some movie. I started falling asleep and I heard purring. I looked down at Kaoru and I saw he was sleep. I started rubbing his head and he looked up like me. 

"Does... my hair feel spiky?"

"No..."

"Hm I thought it felt spiky."

"Go to sleep, you obliviously tired."

"Shhh."

Before he fell asleep I heard him whisper. 

"I- I love you."

"I love you too."
