"Lottie, that is not straight." my mom says as she stressfully runs her fingers through her hair. I look down from the chair I am standing on. "Well I can only see one side." I whine.

My mom getting flustered comes to look at the whole banner that reads 'Merry Christmas.'

"Higher." she says. I stand on my tiptoes. "Higher." I am at the very tips of my toes. "Higher." my mom says. I lean forward into the window and barely get the sign taped before I hear the slam of my elbow onto the frame. I almost fall into the window. Anna snorts from behind the counter. "Oh see now that's nice." my mom concedes. I groan under my breath.

"Mom. Nobody is going to be looking at this sign." I say honestly as I step down from the chair. My mom ignores me and continues to straighten out everything in our house. "It has to be perfect."

I go and stand next to Anna in the kitchen. We aren't allowed to touch anything. "I think she's nervous." Anna says to me with a laugh. I just roll my eyes. "Yeah, I noticed."

My dad finally walks in with his arms full of ice bags. "Well don't you two look nice."

Anna wore a long sleeve red shirt and leathery black skirt, while I wore an all red dress that flowed at the bottom. We both rocked Santa hats as accessories.

There's a knock at the door. "I'll get it." Anna says. "WAIT. I am not ready!" my mom hollers. My dad sighs. "Everything looks great, honey. And we can't keep people waiting outside." I laugh at the last part. "Okay! I'm ready." Mom announces.

Anna opens the door to see Mr. and Mrs. Diggory. My whole heart aches to see them. "Hey, come on in. It's great to see you both." my dad says. The Diggory's haven't been coming around as much according to my parents. And this is the first time I've seen them since returning home.

"We have some presents." Mrs. Diggory says softly. "I can carry them to the tree for you." Anna offers. Mrs. Diggory smiles and hands them off to her.

Amos comes up to me and gives me a big hug. "Hey Lottiekins." I squeeze him tightly. "Hi Uncle Amos." He pulls back but holds my arm to face me head on. "I hear you are the new Hufflepuff captain?"
