I woke up the next morning and every part of me ached. I bit my lip to keep from crying out. I usually have a high tolerance for pain. I broke my arm when I was 7 and didn't even know until 2 days later when it started to turn blue.
If it was one part of my body I'm sure I could push through, but the pain ran down my spine into my hips and yes on my butt. I slowly rolled over and slowly stood up.
Luckily Hannah left the whole pain killers bottle down here so I took some more.
I also had a cut on the back of my shoulder blade. Anna said it was pretty big and covered it up yesterday, but today it stung.
I also felt a little stuffy from all the rain yesterday. Oh great, on top of this pain I get a cold too. So much for the fire helping that.
The Common Room was empty, I guess the girls went to breakfast. I slowly make my way to the dorm so I can get dressed.
I threw a pair of leggings on. Over my leggings I pull on warm thick socks and soft fuzzy boots.
I grab my warmest sweater to complete this almost pajama-like look.I'll get something to eat but then I am climbing back into bed. All I want to do is rest. I make my way slowly down the stairs.
When I'm standing still, the pain wasn't so bad, because my ankles and legs were fine, but when I walked or even moved I felt it in my hips and back.
As I make my way back to the Common Room I hear "Hey kid." Cedric is sitting and reading a book. How does he just appear like that?
"How long did you stay down here last night?" I ask. He shrugs. "I'm not sure, I got a lot of homework done though. How you feeling?"
I run my fingers through my long straight brown hair. "I'm alright." I lie. "Well, good! It'd be a shame if you missed Hogmeade day." I internally groan. I forgot today was Hogsmeade day.
"Yeah, I don't know. I'll think about it." I say. Cedric loops arms with me. "Let's get some breakfast in you before we go." He obviously has decided we're going. Part of me is excited that he might spend more than an hour (that is required in practice) of time with me.
I'm not sure I feel like walking around all day, but maybe it'll be alright.
4 hours later, I'm leaning against the wall in Honeyduke's as Cedric jokes around with all his guy friends. I sigh a little. I don't even know why I came, I should have known he wasn't going to hang out with me.
Question is: why do I care so much?
I decide I'll try to find the girls. I walk up to Cedric. "I'm gonna go meet up with Anna." He just laughs and waves me off.
What an asshole.
I step outside into the snowy street. I look up at the sky. It just reminds me of my fall. The snow feels freezing. Even in my gloves and coat and hat. My straight hair falls back behind me and it feels wet and cold on the back of my neck. Sending shivers through my whole body.
