My eyes flutter open and I realize pretty quickly I'm in the infirmary. Where I should have been yesterday. At least I think it was yesterday, as I have no idea how long I've been here.

There's a figure curled up at the foot of my bed. The lights are all down low. I push myself to sit up. It's definitely late. I squint. It's Seamus. He's sitting in a chair, but barely as he's leaned forward to rest his head by my feet, where he is currently sound asleep. "Seamus." I whisper.

"Oh I wouldn't wake him, dearie." I look over to see Madame Pomfrey rushing over. She puts a cup of water and some pills in my hand. I take them without question. "He carried you all the way here, you know." I look at her with wide eyes.

"He carried me?" She just nods. I cough and clear my throat. "That's only slightly mortifying."

"Next time Lottie, to come straight to me." she says with only a slight scold. "Yes Ma'm."

She walked away and I pulled one of the extra blankets off my bed and threw it over Seamus's shoulders and back. He snored ever so slightly. I couldn't help but smile. "My hero." I whisper to him.

I lay back down in the bed and felt all my muscles finally start to relax. Only about a minute later I felt Seamus shift in his seat and I could feel him wrap an arm on top of my covered legs. It calmed me more than it should have.

The next time I woke up, Anna was seated in the chair reading a book. "Anna?" I mumble. She puts the book down and throws on a smile. "Hi Lot. How you feel?" I once again slowly sit up. "Better. Still sore but it's definitely rest that I needed. Where's Seamus?" Anna smiles. "He stayed with you all night, I kicked him out at 7 this morning. He needed a shower anyways." I just nod.

"Have I missed anything thrilling?" I ask to distract myself from the pain I felt on my shoulder. I instinctively reach up to touch when Anna says "Madame Pomfrey redressed that, but the wound was infected so you are now also taking antibiotics." I nod.

"I also successfully turned an owl into a water goblet without feathers...oh and you got a letter from your mom so obviously I had to open it, but she was just checking in. I haven't written her to tell her about this...but..."

"Anna Fields, I will kill you if you do that." I groan. She leans forward. "Wow. You have me shaking in my boots, pork chop." she says sardonically. I swat at her.

"Other than that.. not much. Oh there is one more thing...." Anna says looking at the sky. "Well?" I question at her awkward pause.

Anna bit her lip. "There were sightings of that prisoner Sirius Black. He's really good, Lot. Teachers are scared he may come here, but I doubt it." I sigh. "That's crazy." Anna shrugs. "The biggest gossip is Charlotte Sigler fainting on a Hogsmeade trip."

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how mortified should I be?" I ask. Anna gets a devilish look her eyes and leans close. "Maybe a 5. But it's totally worth it considering the chivalry it got you."

I smile a little. "I heard he carried me." Anna leans back in the chair and puts a foot on my bed. "He did. Bridal style. If you ask me, he outranks most Gryffindors by a lot." I roll me eyes.

"Does he outrank Justin?" Anna quickly picks up her book. "Wow, would you look at the time? Too bad I can't stay and chat longer. Hannah will be by soon. I love you."

"You'll have to share with me eventually." I call out after her. She just smiles as she flips her hair over her shoulder before turning the corner.

I stay awake a while and Madame Pomfrey helps me up and we do some stretches. "I think I'm going be okay." I tell her. She smiles. "Good. Maybe one more night, but we'll let you go tomorrow." I nod. "I appreciate that." She helps me back into bed. "Besides when you are here, you get a pass on some schoolwork which may be just what you need." I laugh at that. "Yes, that's a nice treat."

My Ravenclaw friends, Lisa and Mandy send some flowers. Dean and Neville send candy. I am thinking this is a pretty good gig coming here.

Sure enough, Hannah comes by to visit. She has Luna and Susan in tow. "Hello best friends in the world." I say smiling. Hannah rushes to give me a big hug. "Thank you for everything." They all hush me.

"What are friends for, if not to help you when you are unconscious." Susan jokes. We all chuckle. "Lottie." Hannah almost whispers. "What is it?" I ask. Hannah looks to Luna. Luna leans close to me. "We have all the ingredients for the séance. We want to try and contact Anna's aunt this week but only if you are up to it."

I bite my lip. "We should do it sooner rather that later. Let's say Thursday night. If we wait til Friday or Saturday we'll have to stay up later until Anna goes to sleep." It's true we all stay up late together on weekends. "Alright Thursday. That gives you a few days to heal. But if Thursday comes around and you can't- don't worry about it."

I just nod. Like I would ever give up when it's for Anna.

"Do you want me to write a letter to your parents?" Hannah asks. I shake my head ademantly. "No, let's not worry them."

"Speaking of worrying..." Luna says.

"Oh Lord." Susan groans. "I can't even with that boy so..."

I squint. "What boy? Who are you talking about? What are you talking about?"

Seamus was the most worried and to my knowledge, Susan didn't have a problem with him.

Hannah sits on the side of the bed. "Cedric has been pacing the Hufflepuff common room for days."

Susan shoots Hannah a look. "It's worse than that. He has been doing laps around the entire Common Room and is giving nobody any peace, because he keeps mumbling Lottie's name."

"Yikes." Luna says under her breath. I mentally face-palm myself. I totally forgot about Cedric.

"Oh no, I feel bad." I say. Then pause and think about it. "I mean, I don't know why I feel bad. HE IS the only reason I didn't come to the infirmary right away. And then he insisted I come to Hogsmeade and make myself worse while he ignored me the whole time."

"Wow." Susan mumbles. "I didn't think I'd see the day you would stop defending him."

"Yeah, same." Hannah says. "Look you tried to be kind, but then you had to put yourself first."

I just nod. "Yeah, can you just...give him an update. Tell him I'm going to be leaving tomorrow." Hannah nods. "Of course we can."

After the girls leave I curl into my bed. I used to think of Cedric as family, but lately I can't say that. Why do I go back to him when he never gives me enough respect? Cedric sees me as a child. Hannah's right it's time to think about me.

And maybe the possibility of me and Seamus.
