5:6 We're all going to be okay

As weeks went by we were still trying to keep the DA a secret. The group couldn't have been more than 40 students.

Here's the thing. Each grade for every house ranged from 8 to 10 students. Currently in my Hufflepuff year there were 10 students- me, Anna, Hannah, Susan, Justin, Ernie, Zac and of course Hannah's former roommates Rose, Harriet and Marjorie.

Every grade, in every house, had a few students like Rose, Harriet and Marjorie that were not interested in breaking the rules. So even if the majority of your house was in the DA, which is the case for Hufflepuff and Gryffindors- it still wasn't enough kids to draw a lot of attention. And for the few Ravenclaws that are in the DA- they are even less suspicious because Ravenclaws disappear within our library all the time.

The houses were growing closer together. We were all improving, especially Neville. We all trusted each other.

That is until educational decree number 82 was posted.

"All students will submit to questioning about suspected illicit activities."

There was no doubt it was about us. But at the end of the day, we had the Room of Requirement to protect us. We hadn't been caught yet. Who's to say we would ever be caught.

Umbridge had also wrangled in a new group of students. They were called the "Inquisitorial Squad." They did her dirty work for extra credit. It was mostly Slytherins attracted to the squad, but a few Ravenclaws too. Their need for extra credit and approval really did them dirty here.

That weekend, Hannah and I decided we'd go to Hogsmeade just the two of us. The weekends were Justin's only free time and we wanted to give him and Anna some space. Susan had some homework to catch up on, and we figured the two of us needed some quality time together.

I told her all about Seamus. I shared details I hadn't yet related to Anna. "I think he's good for you." Hannah said with a smirk. "I think so too." I beam.

We had a great day: laughing, telling stories, pretending like life was normal. When we finally headed back we skipped up the bridge. "What a good trip." Hannah piped in. She was holding at least 3 bags of purchases. I bought one new shirt and candy from HoneyDuke's.

I looked up at the castle and I swear I saw two figures staring at us through the window. As we walk through the courtyard, a few people wave to us including Cho Chang.

"Hi Cho." I say not wanting to ignore her. She gives us a small smile. Malfoy and Zabini are suddenly charging towards us.

"You guys were out past curfew." Malfoy says. He hands Hannah a slip and then me one. "It's 4:30 on a Sunday." Hannah questions.

"Curfew is Noon on Sunday. All students must remain on the grounds." Zabini says with a sly grin. I roll my eyes. "Okay well, we didn't hear the update. Who can keep track of all these pointless rules." Both boys look at each other. "Are you disrespecting the orders?"
