The house sat fairly quiet as rain poured down, crashing against the roof. With no possible way to trick or treat, Sam was on the Internet looking up ways to possibly make her kids' night more special before she headed to hospital.
Her backpack was already by the bedroom door and Baby E's bag was sitting on top of Matt's backpack. "Hey, bitch what time are you getting induced?" Gene asked, taking a seat next to her sister. She'd sent off her album for approval already, so she had time to kill.
"I go in at 6. The doctor is literally just giving me an epidural. But, you know what, when they did my membrane sweep on Wednesday, my doctor was thinking he may try to come on his own; which I hope he doesn't do," she said, lying her head on her on the back of the couch to take a break.
"Why?"
"Because, we've literally had this scheduled for months, so if he decides to try and come, I'm still getting a c-section and I'll have to be in pain for nothing," Sam answered. Gene stitched her eyebrows together.
"Why wouldn't you just try to give birth vaginally?" She asked, sipping her water. Sam rolled her eyes.
"I would love to, but my doctor doesn't even want to try after what happened last time I gave birth," Sam said, remembering that she and her son coded minutes apart from one another.
"Okay, so then why would it be called an induction if you're just getting a c-section?" Gene asked, highly confused. Sam rolled her eyes already over this conversation.
"Because, when I was at my, I think, 18 week appointment, my doctor picked an induction date. I was going to do a VBAC. Like everything was fine, that was the idea. But, as I got farther along, Baby E was showing the same pattern I had with Zeek, so they slapped high risk on the pregnancy, and it changed to a c-section. But we just kept calling it that, because I don't know, it was easier," Sam tiredly explained. She was not in the mood for a long conversation.
"At what point in time," Gene started, picking at her water bottle, "should I tell Avie that she had her first period at 2 days old?" She asked, trying not to laugh. Sam shook her head, chuckling a bit.
"You're annoying! Never! It was literally nothing," Sam recalled. Regina shook her head, hopping up to her knees.
"That was not nothing! We were scared! You and me, bitch!" She laughed. "My baby was bleeding!" She exclaimed. Sam chuckled, remembering that time.
then
Gene laid her daughter on her hospital bed, about to change her diaper. "Sam, can you pass me some of the baby wipes?" The new mom asked, holding her hand out. Sam nodded, pushing up her glasses and finishing her ponytail, before carefully tossing the item to her sister. Gene had been in the hospital for three days already and Avie was on her second, so Nick had gone to the apartment to grab some going home items for them.
"What do you want for lunch? Nick is asking?" Sam said.
"What the fuck!" Gene exclaimed. Sam looked away from her phone to see her sister in shock.
"What? What's wrong?" Sam asked, getting up to see why he'd sister was freaking out. Gene reopened her daughter's diaper to show her sister that her daughter was bleeding.
