The Day was far too busy for us to do any training. Delcallon had been helping his sister with preparations for the celebration. Laveen had also decided to halt training for the day so he could mentally prepare himself for dealing with lords and nobles he despised.
I had decided to help Yarris where I could. He was responsible for preparing the courtroom and dining hall with flowers. I help restrain the beautiful bouquets of roses and ivy to the columns.
Before I left, he reminded me to save him a dance which I brushed off as casual flirtations before heading towards my room.
I was pinning my hair in a side French braid when the slithering sensation of Delcallon knocking at my firewall began.
I shook my head before dropping down the walls. Yes? I asked in the back of my mind as he stepped in.
I need advice on what vest to wear.
The statement was so casual and normal to hear from the Highvarion King of Darkness.
Can Dorica not help you?
I asked as I continued to braid my hair.
She is busy.
I thinned out my lips before pushing out a sighing 'fine'.
Immediately the door began to knock causing me to lean my head back. "Honestly." I groaned as I finished my hair and got up from the chair.
I strode towards the door while securing my robe. I opened the wooden entrance slightly to see Delcallon shyly smirking at me from behind the door.
I opened the entrance further and leaned my arm on it while I traced over his unfinished outfit.
"You look stunning." He purred as he shot me a wink.
I folded my arms over my body and glared at him. "I am wearing a robe?" I stated in confusion. I wore a short black silk robe that stopped just above my knees. I was in no way finished getting ready.
"I know." He smirked before stepping into the room.
I closed the door behind us and turned to face the King who now held up two different vests.
"Black or grey?" He asked with a faint grin.
I glared at him and then at the vests. "Firstly," I stated as I stepped towards him. "That is not black." I said pointing at the very dark red vest, "And that is not Grey." I finished pointing at the ash blue vest.
His eyes creased as he looked at the vests. "Are you sure?" He asked in utter shock.
"What pants are you going to wear?" I asked taking the vests away from him before he dressed like a rainbow.
"These." Delcallon pointed to the paints he had on.
I shook my head, "Those are black." I reassured him. I looked between the dark red vest and then the black pants, "How could you think these two were the same color?"
He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "They look the same."
"No, they do not." I chuckled out. "Come on," I gestured with my head, "Let us go see what else you have."
I turned to walk back towards the door when his hands gripped around my waist and pulled me against his chest. I took in a sudden breath at the rapid contact with his firm body.
"It is faster this way." He stated in a slight purr as darkness began to slither up our bodies.
I gripped onto his arms as I felt a sinking sensation as the view around us turned into a black void. The moment inside the darkness was brief, but it reminded me of falling in the darkness of his mind.
