I ran into the courtroom with Dorica and Delcallon's shadow figure close by my side. Delcallon did not stop to assess the area.
His darkness swirled through the crowd as he began pulling fighting elementals apart. His shadow form was fascinating to watch, claws and tendrils of darkness gripped onto people.
I was not as fast. I stared at the chaos that had broken out in the room. Elementals equipped with blades sliced at those who had been here as guests. My hair on my arms rose as some began to cloak themselves, while others teleported out of the room.
One man with a wicked smirk rushed towards me. I gripped at his throat and stopped him in his immediate stride. He looked at me in shock as he saw my glowing eyes. But he slowly smirked, "May the future be bright." He phrased towards me.
I looked at him in disgust before Dorica stepped in and shoved a silver dagger through his chest. His eyes turned empty and his body limped in my grip.
I dropped him to the floor and looked over at the Silver-haired Oblivion. "Here." She stated as she threw a silver blade towards me. I caught it comfortably. "I am trusting you, Alinta." She pointed her own blade at me before rushing off towards the crowd.
I nodded in understanding. She was trusting that I did not attack her friends, that I withheld my vow to her.
I strode towards a woman who was about to slash her blade across the shivering guest's face. Trying to tell the difference between a Rebel and who was innocent was difficult.
I gripped at the woman's arm similar to how Laveen had with me and bent her wrist backward forcing her to release the blade to the floor.
I looked at her for several seconds as her eyes examined mine. She smiled, "May the future be bright." She spat into my face.
I shoved my blade through her chest and watched as the light in her shimmering eyes faded. I pulled the blade out of her before throwing her across the room.
I looked down at the terrified Elemental. "Come," I ordered as I reached my arm out for them.
She looked up at my eyes and saw my glowing golden orbs before nodding rapidly. She gripped onto my hand and I pulled her up. I stepped in a way as I kept her safe behind me as I began slicing through those that were calling out the Rebel's phrase.
There was no time to stop and think about the people I was killing. Years of training with Lewis and Laveen had taught me not to stop.
Delcallon's shadow moved like fluid through the crowd. He would take a more solid form before piercing his shadow-like claw through a Rebel and pulling out their beating heart. I doubted even Elementals could live through that.
He would transform back in the swirl of shadows and continue through the crowd.
A man rushed from my side and I managed to sidestep his attack while keeping the Elemental behind me protected.
The Rebel smirked at me as we stood opposite each other. His ax was drenched in blood. "May the future be bright." He chanted as his eyes filled with evil.
My eyes grew wide as the tip of a dagger pressed into my back. "May the future be bright." The girl I had saved chanted into my ear as she restrained me.
I shook my head, causing her to press the dagger further into my skin.
The man in front of me swiftly stepped towards me and pulled my blade out of my grip. "We got her." He exclaimed as he stared between me and my captor.
"Eskar said she would protect anyone." The girl spat into my ear.
Eskar... He had sent them?
I doubted he knew how powerful I had become though. I smirked at the man opposite and watched his face morphed into fear.
