The next morning, we sat in the living room suit of the bed chambers as I sat crawled on a ball, and read over the Rituals performed to become the Queen or King of Pretonas. I leaned my back against Delcallon as he sat with his arms stretched out over the back of the sofa, and read over his own book.
I sipped on a cup of warm tea and narrowed my eyes at the sigils that would need to be marked into my skin. My eyes wandered over to Delcallon's sigils on his arm. Sigils that represented the Element of darkness.
Where would mine go?
"Can I come in?" Laveen called out from behind the door.
Delcallon leaned his head back and sighed out, "Our children are incredibly needy."
I smirked up at him as I covered my legs with a blanket on the sofa. Once again, I wore no pants and only a loose shirt that belonged to Del.
"Come in Laveen," I called out as I looked at Delcallon who seemed very unimpressed with me allowing the General in again. I stuck my tongue out at him and his lips turned into a devilish smirk.
"I love that tongue, stick it out again." He purred as he leaned towards my lips.
Laveen strode into the room with heavy footsteps, "Please leave the tongue inside your mouth." He asked with a disgusted expression.
I rolled my eyes and fell further against Del's chest as we looked over at the General. He fell onto an opposite couch and shot us a wicked grin.
"Well, at least you are out of bed." He shrugged with the same smile.
I rolled my eyes and slowly closed the book, allowing it to rest on my lap. Delcallon's arm wrapped around my shoulder and began tracing circles over my skin. It was a dangerous game to play, touching me, even in front of company the touch was exhilarating.
"What do you want General?" Delcallon asked with a smooth tone that caused my body to twitch.
Laveen leaned forward and picked up a strawberry, "As your General." He began with a casual tone as he bit into the strawberry, "I think it is wise we discuss what occurred and what our next step will be."
Delcallon's lips thinned out as his finger slowed their dance over my skin. "First." He stated sternly causing me to look up at him, his crystal-clear eyes narrowed as he looked at Laveen, "I need you to drop your wall so I can interrogate your mind."
My eyes widened and Laveen too seemed stunned. I knew someone was inside the palace, who was helping Eskar, but Laveen? I could not imagine it.
It is just a precaution.
Delcallon stated into my mind.
I nodded slowly in understanding, but it still felt wrong.
Laveen shifted his body, "I am slightly offended." He shrugged but his lips curved up, "But, my mind is all yours."
He leaned back in his chair and got comfortable as Delcallon's eyes narrowed further.
My hair on my arms rose and I watched as the aura in the room shifted as Delcallon began to dive deep into his General's mind. I could have sworn I saw the tie between Laveen's mind and Del's as he continued to read his mind.
I sipped on my tea in silence as I patiently waited for my Intwined to finish his interrogation.
After more than a minute Delcallon's shoulder eventually rested and Laveen released a painful breath. I looked over at him and my face morphed into Compassion. He looked into my eyes and I could see the pain that Delcallon had probably brought to the surface.
