My eyes widened and my lips parted in shock. "Excuse me?" I gasped in astonishment.
His eyes looked over me again as he continued to dance, "Tristan was sweet, but you are not ready to love anyone, and Tristan will want love." He said sternly, "Laveen is like a brother to you, and I am sure you do not want to ruin that." I shook my head at him in shock, "Brallon is wrapped around Dorica's finger." He looked back down at me. "I could give you a night of orgasms, and when you wake, there would be no attachments, no strings, and it would be like it never even happened."
I clicked my tongue in amazement at what Yarris was actually offering me. "I could also use Delcallon for that." I reminded him with a taunting tone.
Yarris smirked, "Yes, but then your Intwinement would snap into place and he would turn into the Primal protective Mate."
I looked down and flushed red. I could not help but wonder if Yarris was picking up on a part of me that was daydreaming about being with Delcallon. Would releasing some of those frustrations help?
"My turn." Laveen snapped as he tapped Yarris's shoulder.
Laveen was like the brother I knew I did not ask for, and his timing was impeccable. Yarris sighed out before nodding and releasing me.
He shot me a smile, "Think about it." He winked before stepping back into the crowd.
I shook my head as Laveen stepped in to take Yarris's place. He was far more polite with the way he moved me around the room. His eyes traced over the busy space before he asked, "Think about what?"
I chuckled out, "Yarris offered me a night of pleasure to release my desires for Delcallon." I beamed a large smile up at him.
His eyes creased at me, "And?" He asked waiting to hear if I accepted. He asked as if it were normal. As if my considering to bed Yarris would be accepted.
"Would a night with someone else help these... Passions." I got out with frustration.
He bobbed his head, "They should." He shrugged nervously, "But it would be a temporary fix, Alinta."
I looked over the room towards where Yarris stood talking to some guests. He stood with his hands behind his back. A night of pleasure with a good-looking man like him did not sound too bad.
"Why are you fighting it still though?" Laveen asked he twirled me around the room.
I looked up at him, "Fighting what?"
He rolled his eyes in frustration, "The Intwinement."
I clicked my tongue in annoyance at him. My skin grew warmer and his eyes widened. "Alinta." He warned causing me to suck in a breath to cool my blood. Burning my dress and Laveen, was probably not a good idea.
"You are admitting that the passion between you and Delcallon is there, are you not?" Laveen continued to push.
I looked down in shame, but he was right. I knew there was passion, we were either fighting or experiencing a strange heat.
"So why do you not just be with him?" Laveen asked the big question I had been avoiding.
"I am not his intwined," I stated sternly through gritted teeth.
He smirked and huffed out, "You are afraid you sleep with him and realize he is." He shook his head slowly.
"No." I spat as my jaw clenched.
He gestured over to the side of the room, "So then, what is stopping you?"
I snapped my head to where he had gestured to and saw Delcallon leaning against a column, sipping on a glass of resin with his one hand in his pocket. His eyes were gazing over the room. He looked irresistible.
His head slowly turned until he found me. The air between us stilled as he slowly traced over the dress I was wearing. My breaths shallowed and from this far distance away I could hear his heart skip a beat. I gulped down as his lips parted to the sight of me.
"Because this is normal," Laveen stated with frustration.
I looked up at him and saw him darting his eyes between Delcallon and me. He looked down at my dress and shook his head. "What?" I asked looking at my dress too now.
"Fate is real Alinta." Laveen said letting go of me slowly, "What you are wearing is proof of that."
I looked at him in confusion, and then back towards where Delcallon stood.
He was no longer alone.
A beautiful red-haired with perfect curves and delicious red lips stepped towards the King. Her face was soft and beautiful. She wore a dress dipped in flames, that flared out around her. He adjusted his stance and his face morphed into recognition.
I was far away, but I could still hear them.
"Rosay?" He stated in astonishment.
