I maintained my face and steps as steady as possible but dropped my wall. He stepped into my mind, and while his face remained placid, I could feel the worry.
Where?
He asked in my mind.
I looked into his eyes and took another step towards him while I smiled.
Behind me.
I pushed out towards his mind.
He took a step towards me as his smirk remained calm and collective.
When I say, I am going to need to shoot your flame towards them okay?
My lips curved up further as I took another step towards him. He gripped onto my waist and pulled me against his chest.
I looked into his crystal-clear eyes as the sound of another heartbeat caught my attention. My eyes widened and Delcallon noticed.
Now.
He ordered.
I spun out of his grip and clicked my fingers allowing a ball of purple fire to extend from my hand. I could not physically see where the person was, but I could feel them.
I shot out the ball through the air and it hurtled towards my target. Instead of the fire clashing with the green wall of the mazed, it hit a person who groaned out in pain as the cloaking abilities lifted.
It was a man I did not recognize with tanned skin and dark hair. His eyes were unique, with one blue eye and one brown. He wore a dark robe and a hood that fell down to his shoulders as my flame hit his torso.
I strode towards him as he collapsed to the floor. Delcallon stepped close behind me until we both stood over the man who was groaning out in agony where my flame had burnt his chest.
"Who are you?" Delcallon growled as his eyes turned black and the space around us began to lose light.
The man snapped his eyes up to us and spat, "May the future be bright."
The hair on my arms continued to rise causing my eyes to snap towards the castle. A lot of magic was being used inside the palace.
Delcallon gripped onto the man's shirt as he crouched over the body before driving his fist across the man's face, knocking him unconscious immediately.
He let him fall with a solid thud before looking up at me. His eyes focused on mine. His eyes were the glowing color of mercury, which meant mine was glowing gold too.
I did not have time to think about it.
The screaming sound of someone falling caught my attention. I looked up just in time to see a body drop to the floor. The sound of cracking and bones and mushed body caused me to wince in disgust.
"That is what you get." Dorica growled as she landed in front of the very tangled and still body, "For crashing my Arrivals Day Celebration!"
I was rather impressed with the Oblivion as she flicked her hair which was now all loose. She spun around towards us and looked at the unconscious man on the floor. "So, someone invited the Rebels." She shrugged in annoyance.
We strode towards her, and I wished I was not wearing a dress. "How many are there?" I asked with a firm tone.
She shook her head, "I do not know." She let out a breath, "They keep shouting out the phrase as more and more start fighting." She looked up at Delcallon in panic, "I did not know there were so many, brother."
I needed to get out of this dress and I needed a crossbow now.
Delcallon gripped onto my dress and began ripping off the skirt.
"What are you doing, brother?" Dorica asked as she diverted her eyes in confusion.
Good bloody question.
"Making some adjustments to mom's work." He taunted as he began physically ripping off the tight bodice.
I looked up at him in confusion as he ripped off the loose pieces of fabric.
"There." He stated with annoyance as he threw the fabric to the floor.
"Mom made that for your bonding!" Dorica growled in annoyance as she pointed at the floor.
"There will not be a bonding if she dies because she cannot move." He stated as he gestured towards me with his hands. I tried not to think too much about his comment, my mind was far too overwhelmed with the thought of the rebels.
I was able to move now. The loose pieces of black fabric allowed far more movement for my body and I would be able to fight now. A lot of skin was exposed though.
Dorica looked at me, then the dress, and then my eyes. "Alinta." She exclaimed, "You need to go and hide." She said with concern. "People will see your eyes and know what you are." She pointed at my eyes.
That was the decision I was going to have to make. Hide what I was, and leave people to die. Or protect them but expose myself as Highvarion.
I did not really feel like there was even a choice. "Then they see," I stated as I pushed past Dorica and began heading towards the palace. The sounds of screaming caught my ears and made my heart race.
A hand wrapped around my arm, I turned to meet Delcallon's eyes. "Alinta, are you sure?" He asked calmly, "Once they see, I cannot stop what will happen."
I nodded and understood. I had read the books, read the history. I knew what would await me if I exposed myself. "I have to help them."
His hand released my arm and cupped my face. "Go and do what you do best Dragon." He smirked before releasing my hand. He stepped back from me.
He gripped onto his ring and pulled it off in one swift movement. His body transformed into a vibrating shadow, with the promise of death. His facial features were covered but I knew where his eyes were. "Burn." His voice transformed into a growl that caused my lips to curve.
