The Juicy bits

JN's POV

Here I am nursing her dahil sa hangover, she never changed, at times she would be someone I barely know as she plays the responsibility of being the brain of the group yet I never stopped seeing her as that ray of sunshine with a crazy mind and heightened imagination. 

Andito kami sa sala ngayon, nakaupo parehas sa carpeted floor as she was whining about her aching head.

"WAAAAHHHHH JN ang sakit, ang sakit sakit, i'll never do it again, once na lang WAAAHHHH" tumayo siya to show me her pouting face and puppy eyes then humiga siya ulit sa lap ko. Parang bata lang talaga na nagsusumbong sa akin yet she never fails to make me love even her craziest quirks.

"Ano ba umagang umaga para kang bakang umuunga diyan" dumating bigla si Devon and said that with a mocking smile, umupo siya sa sofa. 

"Che! Echuserang frog ka kasalanan mo ito, alam mo naman low lang ang alcohol tolerance ko" singhal ni Dahly sa kanya and then she sticked her tongue out. 

Tumawa lang si Devon, nasanay na rin sila sa erratic pattern ng mood ni Dahls. 

"Nasaan si Marah?" natanong ko na lang out of curiosity, Marah and Devon are inseparable so it caught my attnetion na di sila magkasama. 

"Ayun pinalayas ako sa room dahil nakakasuka daw ang mukha ko, hahay women and their unpredictable freakin hormones during pregnancy" 

"Initindihin mo na lang, may pinagdadaanan yun" I replied habang hinilot hiloy ko ang temples ni Dahly who was resting on my lap. 

"Mukhang sanay na sanay ka na sa mga ganun JN ah, sabagay kung si Dahly nga naman GF mo for sure everyday parang buntis yan ahahah" Devon quipped as he shielded himself from a throw pillow na ibinato ni Dahly.

"I am not!" Dahly rolled her eyes as she retorted at ibinato kay Devon ang natitirang throw pillow. 

The two of us laughed sa inasal ni Dahly, she was like a child na naiinis dahil binubully ng elder brother niya. 

"Maiba tayo, what did you two pry out kagabi ni Gen since I'm out cold!?" tanong ni Dahls sa kanya. 

Sumeryoso bigla ang mukha ni Devs, "We have a big problem Dahls, di lang pala si Dolores ang may pakana nito and it's bigger than we think it is." sagot niya sa tanong ni Devs.

"I'm listening" sabi ni Dahly habang nakahiga pa rin siya sa lap ko.

"It seems that at first gusto lang ni Dolores na mapangasawa si Shy for the sake na she would be an asset sa company niya yet he met Bartemius" biglang nagbago ang ang aura ni Devs, I could tell he is ready to pounce on something. 

"Bartemius, ang uncle ni Shy?" Dahly asked.

"Yes at wala ng iba, partners sila ni Dolores, siya ang nagfufund ng mga assasins, ang original plans nila is just to marry Shy and Dolores to create an even greater empire than ours, it's common knowledge na sa atin that the Dolores Companies is our greatest rival and we sticked to that thought. However, that was just icing on the cake pala. Just like us they recruited scholars dahil nga parehas halos nagkaubusan ng lahi ang dalawang clan sa bloodshed before, sad to say nga lang yung mga recruits nila ay hidi nakalista sa database nila. They recruited people to match each and everyone of us except sa iyo Dahly" Devs paused as he looked at Dahly as if she were a piece of secret weapon.

"They have been eyeing you before and was planning to recruit you on their side, good thing at nakilala mo si Shy or we'd be a goner now" he smiled and napansin ko na nagblush si Dahls. 

'Si Cy ang next option nila pero as we all know, Cy is completely on our side because of you two, the assassin na nahuli natin ay walang ideya kung sinu-sino ang mga recruits nila, and since they failed the first two attempts to eliminate at least one of us, the recruits will be on the move soon."

Devon took a decanter of whisky na nakalapag sa sidetable na malapit sa kanya and poured some of it sa wine glass na katabi ng decanter. 

"Why the hell would they want to eliminate us if they just want to create an empire?" biglang nagsalita ang bagong dating na si Cy Cy who sat down beside Dahly. Bumangon si Dahls to give him a tight hug at bumalik sa pagkakahiga sa lap ko.

"Sa tingin ko hindi lahat tayo gusto nilang i-eliminate it's just me because they are threatened by me, I'm their greatest obstacle and the other one would be Argen because he is the head of the family now technically. A troop with no commander is a freakin goner ika nga, tama ba ako?" deduction ni Dahls.  

"You are right Dahls, they don't care nga lang if madamay yung ibang sa atin on the process of killing you guys, they just want to make sure that the Silverthorne Empire's downfall would be a sure reality." paliwanag pa ni Devs as he gulped the remains of the whiskey sa glass niya. 

" Impressive plans yet pathetic progress in realization, mas lalo atang sumakit ang ulo ko sa kanila, they want war we will give them war" yun na lang ang nasabi ni Dahls na naging seryoso bigla ang mood. 

Ang galing talaga ng GF ko, she never fails to amaze me how her brain works, wickedly erudite.

"Mukhang nasabi mo na sa kanila lahat ng juicy information na napiga natin kagabi." nagsalita si Argen na kararating lang, he poured whiskey into a glass and sat down beside Devon. 

"So Dahls we need to plan a defense" sabi niya kay Dahly.

"My head is a bit dysfunstional right now, could you make me some of your hangover tomic Gen then I might have a less clouded mind" mapaklang sagot ni Dahls. 

Tumawa si Gen, "I guess you can't hold your alcohol very well, hahay bata ka pa nga, you may have the whole world including the atoms and cells on your mind yet you are still a sniveling brat."

"Hey I don't snivel, am I sniffing now? I'm not di ba!" Dahls retorted as she threw her shoe kay Gen. 

Gen was able to catch it then laughed. He is really different with Dahly, he laughs, he responds and he is more human when he is with here, dahil nga siguro Dahly is a ray of sunshine, she knows how to make everyone feel a little brighter and idagdag mo pa na they are so alike, emo version nga lang itong si Gen compared to the Cheerful Dahls. Sa amin naman well he is his usual self, indifferent, aloof and unfeeling.

Biglang nagring ang phone ni Gen, he placed it on speaker phone since parang tinatamad siya na sagutin ito the usual way na near your ears, 

"What!?" galit niyang tanong sa caller. 

"Hi Argen it's me Carmela, we are here in the Philippines could you meet up with us?" sabi ng isang malanding boses sa kabilang linya. 

"Carmela I have retired from the band and I have no plans of coming out from retirement" cold na sagot ni Argen.

"Aww Gen that hurts. at least meet up with us as old pals naman grabe" the girl replied enticing him.

Gen rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll be in Manila tomorrow I'll text you" then Argen hung-up, grabe talaga siya he doesn't give a damn to the point of rudeness. 

"Who was that?" tanong ni Dahls, she was smiling yet I know deep inside her mind is already on overdrive.

"Manager ng band ko sa taiwan and... ex GF ko"  hesitant na sagot ni Argen, I know na nababasa niya in some way ang scrutinizing aura ni Dahls. Alam na alam ni Gen kung gaano ka protective itong GF ko kay Shy and she dislikes each and every girl na lumalapit kay Gen, ganun kaOA na kaibigan si Dahly at times, though I love that about her.

"Dahls,ex nga, again ex... meaning wala na kami" defense ni Gen.

"I didn't say anything why so defensive" pokerfaced na sagot ni Dahls. 

"Kasi halata masyado na parang tinotorture mo na ang babaeng yun sa utak mo kahit wala ka pa ngang idea sa itsura niya" nakaduh  face na sabi ni Gen.

"Whatever, iisa lang naman ang itsura nila, isang malanding whore-like pretty face without substance so there is no need for me to see her in person, dali gawan mo na ako ng tonic at baka talagang sasabog na utak ko" irritated na reply ni Dahls. 

"Hay naku, ewan ko sa iyo, ako yung kuya at leader dito pero inuutusan mo lang ako" reply ni Gen as he stood up. 

"A true leader is a servant to his followers Gen" quip ni Dahls as she flashed a smile.

Umiling iling na lang ang ulo nin Gen as he headed for the kitchen,
