Shysie's POV

Argen has been pacing back and forth in front of the surgery room for more than an hour now. His arm wound needs to be stiched pero di niya pinagamot, he would scream and scare any nurse who would comenear him. I looked at him for the nth time as he let out a scream of frustration while combing his hair with his fingers. 

Kahit ako natatakot na lumapit sa kanya, kaya naiintindihan ko ang mga nararamdaman ng mga nurse. Si Cy naman andito lang sa tabi ko, alert and awake, ready to protect me from Gen if ever he will do something stupid, ewan ko ba kay Cy why he thought of something like that. 

"Shit! What's going on in there?" bulalas ni Gen or was it more like a scream? He finally stopped pacing, he leaned his back against a wall and slowly slid down to sit spread legged on the floor, itinakip na niya ang mga kamay niya sa mukha niya as he slowly let tears fall, I could tell he is crying dahil may mga drops of tears na makikita sa floor.  He pulled his legs closer and used it to support his head habang nakadungo siya. 

Seeing him like that pierced my heart, knowing him he doesn't like it na may nakikita sa vulnerable side niya, ako lang ata ang nakawitness nun ages ago, the last time he was like this was when his dogs 2d and Batty died. Argen may seem cold, distant and unfeeling pero deep inside he is sensitive and loving, though I am not sure if he is still like that up until now. 

I finally gathered enough courage na lapitan siya, as I started to walk towards him I felt a hand squeeze my shoulders, paglingon ko it was Cy wearing a concerned look and a big question mark evident on his face. 

"I'll be alright, kaya ko ito, it's my duty as his wife" I gently squeezed his hand back as I said that, assuring him that kaya ko nga ito. He let go of my shoulder, "I'll be within shouting distance, I could tell you need privacy in some way, just holler" sabi niya sa akin with an understanding smile. 

"Pakitawag na lang si Dahly please, ayaw magpagamot ni Gen kasi siya lang ang may kapangyarihan ipasunod  yan" I smiled as I said that, isang tango lang ang nakuha kong sagot from him and he left after that. 

I frowned at the thought that I need to ask help from Dahly pa para magamot lang si Gen, how I wish I was like Dahls who could make him angry to the extreme na hindi natatakot. Ako ang asawa niya pero tumitiklop ako sa simpleng matalim na tingin niya o kaya sa silent treatment niya sa akin. A part of me wants to run away, tinatanong ko na nga sarili ko kung bakit andito pa ako sa tabi niya, playing the role of his wife when in fact I could just leave him and his family anytime. I slowly walked towards him, with every step my courage seeped out of my system also little by little.

Umupo ako sa tabi niya in the most decent way I can, medyo may punit na kasi ang skirt ko, well come to think of it I came here in Davao wearing sleep wear lang, buti na lang di ako mahilig sa sexy and lacy night clothes. Blue cotton pajama dress ang suot ko na medyo ankle length kaya kahit papaano desente pa rin ako tignan. 

"Gen?" mahina kong sabi, I almost choked as I said that, ganun ba talaga ako ka takot sa kanya?

"Stay away from me!" mahina yet halatang galit na galit niyang sabi sa akin without even looking at me or moving from his current position. parang alam ko na kung bakit galit siya sa akin, I can't blame him.

Bumuntong hininga ako, I extended my arm and hesitantly touched his head. 

"Don't touch me! " sigaw niya as he slapped my hand away. Medyo napalakas yun kaya napakagat na lang ako ng labi as I pushed back tears that wants to fall so bad. 

"I said leave me alone! Look at what your kin did to my father!" sigaw niya ulit sa akin and I could really feel his anger slap me hard in the face. Alam ko di niya sinasadya ang mga sinabi niya at di talaga sa akin nakadirekta ang galit niya, pero tama siya kadugo ko ang isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit nag-aagaw buhay si Old Man sa loob.
