25: prize

Taehyung sat in the classroom listening to the music teacher talk. But the boy wasn't fully focussed. he kept thinking about the surgery he agreed on getting. Will it work? will it hurt? what if it doesn't work? could he die? He couldn't get the thoughts out of his head. not that he wasn't happy, he really was but he was scared of the whole thing. He was already scared of hospitals so now that he had to go there for a surgery. He just hope things will work.

suddenly the loud bell rang through his ear. He was startled and hit his knees against the table. "ah crap" he said and laid his head on the table while rubbing his knees.

"Tae, hurry!" Jimin said, rushing into the classroom. He sat on the boy's table. "okay tell me more"

"huh?"

"about the doctor of course, you were in the middle of taking and then had to leave, continue!"

"Well, the doctor told me that from the accident my retina in my eye broke and caused the fluids to get under my eye skin. it is harming my eyes and makes me blind. The doctor said the only way to possibly fix it is to close the retina and have a corneal transplant. since mine is very bad and i can't see through it even if the fluids have been removed they will remove it and give me a new one."

"wow, that sounds scary but, if it works, it's amazing, '' Jimin smiled. He wished his friend to see again if it was possible, he wanted his friend to be happy and enjoy life to the fullest. "so you said jungkook will be paying?"

"yes....he said he wanted to do that for me. I-i dont have the money myself...he knows that i think that's why he did that'' Taehyung said. "i don't know where he will get the money from...but he told me to trust him so i will. i will trust him"

"That's very kind of him."

"yes, I love him a lot, Jimin" Taehyung smiled.

"I can see that, I'm happy for you. now let's go have lunch together" The cotton boy hopped off the table and grabbed Taehyung's hand pulling him after him. For them it was not odd to hold hands, they did it a lot. and it wouldn't be strange at all if you knew one of them was blind so it was very normal to hold hands. "What do you wanna eat?"

"i am feeling hungry for a baguette with egg salad"

"Then i know where we are going" jimin chuckled and they exit the school building fleeing the hot sun on their face. it was getting hotter and hotter with each day, the summer was right around the corner.

"Taehyung!" a voice said. immediately the brunet stopped walking and turned his head.

"Jungkook?" he said and heard the little tinkling bells. He smiled feeling Jungkook's hands cup his face and place a soft kiss on his nose.

"hey cutie"

"a-ah hello" the blind boy blushed from the nickname.

"I came to tell you something and I saw I was nearby," Jungkook said.

"oh what is it?"

"i signed myself up for the upcoming tournament. It's a big thing to compete in, ''Jungkook said.

"thats amazing! im sure you will do well"

"i am planning to win it. I will be focussing a bit more on my training. so i will apologise in advance if I don't pick up the phone immediately. I will have more days practicing to prepare for the battle" Jungkook said and removed his hands from the boy's cheeks.

"oh that's okay"

"there is a big prize i want to win"

"ohhh what is the prize?" Taehyung asked, curious. was it a car or something, like he heard on tv shows?

"a money prize of 50.000. If I win I can use it to pay for your treatment and recovery. It's the best opportunity to get money. I just need to win'' jungkook smiled and saw how taehyung's eyes lit up.

"really? you will do that?!"

"Of course, everything for you tae. but i have to go now. i have to buy something from the store"

"okay that's fine, I am going to lunch with Jimin now" Taehyung smiled. He didn't want to say goodbye yet but he knew they had to. "oh Kook, would you like to hang out tonight, its weekend so i thought you were free too?"

"i would love to, shall I come to your place?"

"well, it's not really allowed-"

"i will just sneak in, no one will even notice. I did it before I remember?" Jungkook chuckled.

"okay, just be careful. i don't want them to remove you from the dorms"

"they won't, well i will see you tonight then."

"bye bye" taehyung waved at the other completely the wrong direction but jungkook took it and smiled waving back. Jimin held back a laugh, it looked pretty funny scene in front of him.

"You two are to cuuuttee" Jimin said, swinging an arm over his friend's shoulders.

"This is good," Taehyung said, taking another big bite from his meal. they decided to take it to go and walk home while eating.

"I really like this too, this is so delicious" Jimin said, also munching his lunch away feeling satisfied.

"I didn't ask actually, is it okay if Jungkook comes over tonight?" Taehyung asked. He completely forgot to ask his friend if he minded that.

"of course, i will call Yoongi and if he is free I will go to him so you two can be alone" Jimin smirked and poked Taehyung teasingly.

"aish, jimin it's not f-for that"

"hm you never know, just dont use my bed then its fine '' jimin said getting a smack from his friend making him drop the bite he had in his mouth. "aish tae my food!"

"don't be a baby Jimin"

"you're lucky we're friends" jimin chuckled and took a bite from his food again.

"yes i am, because we are BEST friends." taehyung smile.
