Bill was intrigued by my plan. "A pharmacy huh?"

"Yeah. I used to work there," I responded. "It's not too far away from here."

Andy was somewhat skeptical, however. "I don't know. Who in the hell knows what could be waiting for you in there, Dom? Better find someplace smaller. Maybe even try some of the homes around here. Raid the medicine cabinets."

"True. We don't know what could be in the pharmacy. But who knows what's in the homes around here. Could be some owners less than thrilled that I broke in looking to steal shit. Hopefully, the only person in the pharmacy will be my old boss finally giving me that raise I've been bugging her for," I joked. "Trying the pharmacy is our best bet. It sure beats waiting to happen upon another abandoned ambulance, and hoping that there's some type of medical supplies in there."

"Dom has a point, Andy," Bill said. "Dom, do you think you can get to your old pharmacy?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I'm not too familiar with this particular neighborhood, but I'm sure we're not too far away."

"That really inspires confidence, Dom," Shauna said dryly.

"Thanks, honey."

"Shut up."

"Bill, I can make it," I said.

"Okay," Bill replied.

"I'll come along too," Shauna added. "That way Andy can keep an eye on things around here and Gina can get a break. Amber, do you want to come along?"

"I'd really rather not," Amber replied.

"You need a break, too?" I asked Amber.

"Yeah."

"Okay. Not a problem, Amber."

Shauna and I both got up from the table and returned to our place to go and get ready. We each had a duffel bag and our weapons and we were all set to head out.

I was about to walk out the front door when Shauna stopped me. "Hang on a second, Dom."

"Yeah? What?" I asked her.

"Do you know how to get To the pharmacy? For sure?"

"I'm pretty sure, Shauna. We're in the general area after all."

"Well, how sure?"

"Fairly confident? I don't know."

"Gee, you really sound like it."

I started to walk out of the house. "Come on. It'll be an adventure."

"Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of."

Shauna and I waved goodbye to the others and Andy saw us leave.

"You two don't be go long," Andy said to us. "And be careful out there, okay?"

"You got it, Andy. See you in a bit," I replied.

Shauna and I headed in the direction of the pharmacy. It was a bright, clear morning, and it was quiet too. We walked for a few blocks and then I stopped to check out our surroundings.

"Where are we?" I thought for a moment. I wasn't exactly sure where Shauna and I were.

"What's up, Dom?" Shauna asked me.

"Just checking things out," I answered.

"You're lost, aren't you?"

"Nope."

I was starting to recognize a few houses in the area, and I knew which direction we should head. All of the homes I looked at appeared to be empty. Some of the front doors were sitting wide open and more than a few windows were smashed. But Shauna and I couldn't go and investigate. We had to get to the pharmacy, and I didn't really want to go and snoop around anyways.
