We quickly gathered whatever kind of furniture in the office that wasn't nailed down, and we began piling everything into the entrance, blocking the doors. Rolie and Erin kept an eye on things going on outside while we hurried with the barricade.
"That fucker is still out there," Rolie scoffed.
"What's he doing?" I asked.
"Ordering his lackeys around."
"Rolie, get away from the windows. Those aren't shatterproof. One of those assholes might take a shot at you," Erin told Rolston.
Rolie nodded and stepped from the window. "How's that barricade?"
"Almost done," I replied as Bill and I finished moving a desk into place. "That's it."
Bill heard something. "I think they made it in."
I took a listen as well. I could hear footsteps and shouting coming from the lower floors. It sounded like Tommy's group was definitely inside the building.
"Now, what do we do? Just wait for them to break through that and let them come in here and kill us?" Shauna asked.
Rolston gestured toward the entrance, "They all can't fit through there. We should be able to pick them off, should they get in here."
"Like a bottleneck," Erin added. "After a while, they'll probably get the message and leave."
"With Tommy? I doubt that," I remarked. I didn't think Rolie's guy had enough ammunition anyways.
The noise downstairs died down for a few seconds.
"I don't hear anything," Shauna muttered.
"I don't either," I responded.
"They're probably down there plotting their next move. Getting their orders from that psycho," Rolston told the rest of us.
Then, we all heard the mob charging up the stairwell. Rolie and his crew readied their guns and aimed them at the doorway. It seemed like Tommy's guys were trying to push the doors open, but, nothing happened.
We then heard Tommy, "Oh, look, you barricaded yet another doorway. You got us. Time to pack it in," He taunted us. Tommy's crew continued trying to break down the doors, but our barricades held.
"What do you mean they won't budge?!?" Tommy demanded to know. "Break those fuckers down. Now!"
Tommy's crew tried and tried, but the office doors didn't break down. Then, Tommy screamed, "Fuck!"
I couldn't help myself, "I think he's mad," I remarked sarcastically.
"Shut up, Dom," Shauna replied.
"You motherfuckers. What do you have blocking those damn doors? King Kong?" Tommy called out.
"No, it's Godzilla, actually," I responded.
"Ha-Ha. Very funny. Open up!"
"No. You obviously can't get in here. Just go the fuck away," Rolie told Tommy.
"Oh no. I'll get you fuckheads out of there."
"How's that?"
"I'm sending a couple of my guys back to our compound. We forgot to bring the Molotovs with us."
Almost everyone in the room had terrified expressions on their faces. Everyone except me.
"He's not gonna do shit," I whispered.
"What? Are you serious?" Shauna asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah."
"What are you getting at, Dom?" Rolston inquired.
