Before we entered the yard, Tommy made one of his crew members check things out. When the guy returned, he said, "Nothing there, boss. And the garage is all closed up, too."

"Did you try opening the door?" Tommy asked.

"No."

"You dumb fuck," Tommy sighed.

"Sorry."

"Yeah, whatever. Let's go."

Tommy and his men hopped onto the front porch first and looked inside the home. Tommy tried opening the front door, but it was locked.

"It looks like they all took off, boss," One of the thugs said. He was peeking in through the living room window. I just stood off to the side and watched Tommy and his crew peer inside the empty house.

"Yeah, I can't see shit. That's not why we're here, anyhow," said Tommy. "Okay, time to go kill Amber. Oh, and you too, Dom."

"Oh, you're not gonna take me or Amber back to your hideout and execute us there?" I asked.

"Nope. I'm just going to do it right here. I'm pretty tired, and I need a nap."

I didn't say anything. I tried to play it cool and calm as I didn't want to give anything away, but my heart was going like a machine gun I was so nervous. I simply nodded, and I started walking down the driveway and headed for the backyard.

"I thought you said the garage was open," Tommy said to me. "The thing's closed."

"Tommy, try the door," I replied. "It should be unlocked. Sorry you took me so damn literally."

"Yeah, that would help," Tommy said. He grabbed the door handle and pulled. The large, steel, orange door opened, revealing an empty garage. Tommy turned around and scowled at me. "What the fuck, Dom?"

"I told Amber to hide in the rafters. Go and check."

Tommy and his men walked into the garage, and they began looking up towards the ceiling, trying to locate Amber.

"Can't see shit," One of Tommy's men muttered.

I waited until Tommy and his crew were further inside the garage. That's when I made my move. I dashed forward, and I quickly grabbed the garage door, slamming it shut on the gang.

"Hey! What the fuck?!?" Tommy shouted from inside the garage.

With everything I had, I kicked at the handle until it broke off from the door, trapping Tommy and his crew inside the garage.

"Dominik, you fuck! Open this door!" Tommy bellowed. Tommy and his men began kicking and pounding on the garage door and slamming up against it. The door buckled somewhat, but it held.

I wasn't inclined to open the garage for Tommy. I turned and ran out of the backyard as fast as I could. When I made it back to the pharmacy parking lot, I heard some gunfire. Tommy and his men fired their weapons, trying to get out of the garage.

I figured that the gang would probably be trapped in there for a little while, maybe half an hour or so. It would be long enough for me to get to Shauna and the others, and we could get away. I immediately ran down the main road, heading back for the intersection where I encountered the bandits.

I just ran and ran, not even looking behind me to see if Tommy and his crew were giving chase. I needed to get back to my group as fast as possible.

When I made it back to the intersection, I finally stopped for a quick breather.

"Just a couple seconds," I told myself. I leaned up against one of the wrecked vehicles, and I kept my eyes down the road, looking for Tommy and his crew. I didn't see any of them, but that didn't mean they were still trapped in the garage.
