When the heart bleeds ~ Bughead

Chapter 14

Betty just couldn't sleep.

She could not get the voice out of her mind.

Since her family came to Riverdale, everything has become more difficult.

Of course, all this would have happened sooner or later.

But she would have preferred later.

After some reeling around, the blonde was finally able to fall asleep.

At about 10 o'clock in the morning she woke up to the smell of fresh pancakes.

She rubbed her eyes and noticed that the other girls were no longer there.

Sleepily she went down the stairs.

"Good morning."

She greeted the other family members, which consisted of her 4 brothers, her mother, V and C, T, FP, Fangs, Sweet Pea and Jughead.

Jughead got up from the breakfast table and put his arms around the blonde.

"Morning, love."

He whispered in her ear.

"Feeling better?"

Cheryl now asked as well.

"Better why better? What happened?"

Alice turned to her daughter and looked at her with concern.

"Are you all right?"

"Yeah, but last night when I was getting a glass of water, I heard Dad's voice.

He um - he threatened me.

That I was going to die without him."

Betty looked down at the floor a little, ashamed of being the one with so many problems in her life.

"Why didn't you wake me up? I was very frightened when I didn't see you this morning."

The future Alpha pulled Betty even closer to him, which earned him nasty looks from the brothers.

"I found her downstairs and then took her like I used to. But the important question is, why was Hal able to talk to her?"

Cheryl now wondered.

"He probably found out that Betty was the Tribrid and that's why he made a connection."

Explained FP, who put an arm around Alice.

"But how could that work? I mean Betty wasn't even born yet."

Elijah stated.

"Maybe he had help from a witch? I mean, Mom said she'd seen a lot of caged witches, didn't she?"

Everyone turned to Ashton, who stated the obvious.

"What?"

He asked with a pancake in his mouth.

"Well, that's possible. We should come up with a plan for the ball."

Retorted Klaus now.

"That would be a good idea."

FP said and they all sat down at the breakfast table.

"Are you sure he will come to the ball?"

Fangs asked.

"I'm pretty sure. Betty is about to turn into a werewolf for the first time and he's already tried to talk to her."

Betty's mother explained.

"Okay. Do you think he still lives in the same place as before?"

Sweet Pea inquired.

"Definitely not. Even when we lived with him we moved around a lot."

Clargson explained.

"So we can assume he doesn't live there now either."

Repeated Klaus.

Everyone at the table nodded.

"What is our destination, anyway?"

Ashton looked around the table.

"Our destination? That Betty survives, we free the other witches, and we lock Hal up. I thought that was obvious."

Aunt Hermione now interjected.

"Yes um of course."

Ashton replied.

"So? What does all this have to do with the Alpha ball?"

Cheryl asked.

"That's where we're going to meet him and we can track him. And then we'll find the witches and most importantly defeat Hal."

FP explained.

"To sum it all up: We meet Hal, who is really dangerous as you tell it, track him and defeat him?"

Jughead still had an arm around Betty, whom he was looking at anxiously:

"That doesn't seem like a very good plan."

"I know, but do you want to keep him on the loose? It's the only way."

Retorted Alice.

"Okay, the question is, who do we take to the Alpha Ball?"

Betty now asked.

"Me, Alice, Hermione, Veronica, Cheryl, Jason, Clargson, Elijah, Ashton, Klaus, Reggie, Archie, Sweet Pea, Fangs, Jughead, Toni, Tall Boy, Hodgeye and you."

That apparently ended the conversation because the adults got up from the table and cleared the dishes.

Over the next few days, the training got harder for everyone, but no one complained.
