Chapter 18

"Betts, darling, we want to go back to the hotel."

Mike interrupted the moment and put an arm around Betty.

"Sure, let's go."

She laughed and was about to leave when she noticed Jughead's look.

He looked at Mike like he was about to kill him.

Betty was about to ask what was going on, but Mike led or pulled her along.

The young blonde didn't know what to do, so she just followed her best friend.

Veronica, Cheryl and Toni saw what had just happened.

None of the three knew what it was supposed to be, but they realized that Mike was possessing Betty way too much in Jughead's eyes.

"Do you think they're going to fight today?"

Cheryl now asked.

"I don't know, but Jughead doesn't really seem happy."

Veronica answered her.

"What are you guys talking about?"

Archie asked as he joined them.

"About Jughead and Betty."

Toni answered him.

"Ah, about Mike, right?"

Archie stated.

The three girls just nodded.

"I think I should have a talk with Betty."

Suggested Veronica.

Archie put an arm around her:

"You guys have a very special relationship."

"Yeah, we've been running together our whole lives and grew up like sisters."

She explained to them.

"Yes, it's incredible. Betty and I have always had a good relationship but B and V is a much bigger deal."

Agreed Cheryl now.

"Let's go downstairs. The others are already gone."

Only now did the other three realize they were alone on the roof.

They all agreed and headed for the stairs.

"I don't like Mike."

Jughead and Sweet Pea were slightly behind the others.

"Neither do I. It's like he's obsessed with Betty. I mean I get that they're friends, but what about Veronica? He spends almost no time with her."

Now Sweet Pea also stated.

Jug nodded, knowing exactly what he meant.

Betty spent so much time with Mike, it was strange.

He was worried about Betty, he felt like there was something he didn't know.

But maybe he was exaggerating, maybe he was telling himself.

After a few minutes they finally arrived at the hotel.

"Maybe, we should all go to sleep now and have dinner together tomorrow?"

Veronica asked the group.

Betty and Mike had been talking about their shared memories all the way, which is why they only now realized that they had already arrived.

"Oh yeah, we can do that."
