Chapter 16

"Hey, how are you?"

Betty asked him.

"Pretty good. I'm just down in the lobby with Jake and Ellie."

Mike told her.

"I guess Ellie is Jake's mate?"

Betty laughed, while Jughead just looked at her, annoyed.

He's never met Mike and already hates him.

"That's right, darling. Alice told me you'd already arrived and I was wondering if you'd like to come and look around New York with us."

He asked the blonde.

Jughead was getting more jealous by the second.

"Of course, is it okay if we take some friends with us?"

Inquired Betty, while Jughead only got angrier since she didn't even mention that she had a boyfriend.

"Sure, darling. We'll wait downstairs in the lobby. Say we meet in 10 minutes?"

Betty said goodbye and hung up.

"We're not really going with them, are we?"

Jughead now asked her.

"They're my friends, Jug.

You can't forbid me from seeing them."

Betty looked at him sternly, arms crossed.

The future Alpha just exhaled audibly.

He knew he couldn't forbid her.

He didn't want to either, but he couldn't take a liking to Mike.

Normally, he wasn't really jealous.

Possessive, yes, but not jealous.

He knew Betty would never cheat on him, and the mate bond should not be underestimated.

"I know, but it's hard for me, he's a werewolf from a different pack, okay?"

Betty knew the mood was ruined for the day:

"I'm going to change now, the others have already been called by Mike. Hurry up if you still want to change."

She grabbed something from the suitcases and went to the bathroom.

Jughead couldn't believe it.

Of course he knew Betty and Mike had known each other for some time, but she was his mate not Mike's.

Shaking his head, he grabbed a new pair of jeans and a T-shirt and changed.

Betty meanwhile stood in the bathroom wondering if maybe she was being too harsh.

But then she took the black shorts and the red bralette with the black boots and Jug's leather jacket he gave her.

She walked out of the bathroom and Jug stared at her.

"Absolutely not!"

"What, of course. I'm even wearing your jacket!"

Betty was getting angry.

"You can't tell me what to wear. It's still my decision and you have to accept that."

"Okay. But you keep the jacket on please."

Jug just looked at her pleadingly.

The blonde just nodded and walked to the door:

"Are you coming?"

Jughead followed her and the two took the elevator down to the lobby.

As soon as the doors opened and Betty saw Mike and Jake, she ran to them and hugged them both.

"I missed you guys so much."

She said as Mike tightened his arms around her.

"I missed you too."

He replied:

"Wow, you've gotten even more beautiful, I didn't think that was possible."

A few seconds later, Jughead was also standing there clearing his throat, but through his good hearing he knew what Mike was saying about Betty.

"Hello, I'm Jughead, future Alpha of the Serpent pack and Betty's Mate."

He held out his hand which Jake accepted with a smile.

"I'm Jake Alpha of the Midnight Pack and this is my mate Ellie our Luna and Mike our Beta."

Jug smiled at Jake and Ellie and then turned to Mike.

"Baby B, why didn't you tell us you had a mate?"

Mike asked the young blonde.

"It's a very long story that the others and we were going to tell you at dinner tonight. Oh yeah, I'm Betty, Jake, Mike, me and my cousins met a few years ago."

The last sentence was addressed to Ellie, a young woman maybe 20 years old.

She was tall, had black hair and brown eyes.

She was very beautiful and a perfect match for Jake.

"I've heard a lot about you guys. I hope we will get along well."

Ellie smiled kindly at Jug and Betty and Jake put an arm around her:

"Let's wait for the others, then we can go."
