I stood on the porch and waited for the boys to arrive. I saw them both walking through the field and ran over. "Oh my God, are you OK?" I asked as I got closer. Without thinking, I wrapped my arms around James' neck and his wrapped around my waist. I realised how we looked, noticing Sam's confused face, and pulled away.

"Yeah, yeah we're fine." James smiled, one hand still on the base of my back.

"And just what was all that!?" A voice came from the main drive.

I turned to look at two of the guys from the lorry walking up, a car parked a little down the road. "Who are you?" I tried to hold in my anger but I'm unsure how well I was doing... of course I knew who he was; his face was everywhere. And I wanted to punch it even more in person. He didn't deserve that shield, he had not earned it at all.

"And how did you find us!?" Sam spat out, not hiding his anger at all.

"Your tech." He smirked before turning to me, "Hi. John Walker, Captain America." He smiled, taking his helmet off and putting his hand out for me to shake.

I looked at it and bit the inside of my cheek, "nope." I sighed and turned round to walk back to the house. "Just, nope." I said over my shoulder and walked home.

"You need to answer some questions Miss....?" Johns voice came from behind me.

I sighed before turning to look at the four boys on my driveway, "none of your business." Sam and James looked confused, "and you can leave now."

"I'm sorry, but this has become a government matter and I will need you to come with me."

I laughed, "Not happening. Now, please leave my property."

"Lori?" James questioned, looking really confused.

"Can we go inside? I don't want to be out here any longer." I turned back round and walked up the porch stairs, Sam and James not far behind me. And neither was Walker!

"Miss, I am Captain America and I am telling you -"

"No!" I whipped round and shouted into his face, him a couple of steps down from me. I had enough of his attitude, as if he was everything. "Don't you DARE use that name. You don't deserve that name. Steve Rogers was twice the man you'll ever be and once you understand that Mr Walker, you may be worthy of my time."

"Look, I don't know who you think you are -"

"Get off my property Mr Walker. There's nothing for you here." I looked down to the shield on his arm. I had seen it once in person when I was much younger, but it still hurt seeing someone else holding it. I turned back and into the house before I let the tears fall.

"We'll handle it, Walker." Sam said before both boys came into the house too. Sam closed the door behind him and I continued to the kitchen, wiping my tears.

"So, drink? There's water, beer -" I started as I breathed through the tears.

"Lori, what was that?" Sam asked walking behind me.

"I don't know what -" I leaned on the counter and looked over to them. I took a deep breath in, "No one really knows about me. And I'd like to keep it that way for as long as possible."

"What do you mean?" Sam asked, going to the fridge and grabbing a beer, passing one to James.

"My mum left me with my grandparents when I was 3 and never came back. I saw my dad once and then never heard off him again." I took a beer off Sam and we all sat at the table, "Nanna and grandpa sent me off to England when I was 5 to stay with nannas family. They said it was to keep me safe. Grandpa called a lot and came to visit. He always made sure I was ok. But I was never talked about over here. Only a few people knew about me; grandparents, Fury, and my cousin, Sharon."

Both boys faces dropped when I mentioned her, they looked down to the floor and shuffled their feet. "What? What do you know!?"

"Sharon." Sam mumbled into his beer bottle before taking a sip.

"What!? You've met her?"

James sat picking the label off his bottle as he spoke, "She helped us a few years back."

I sighed and got up from the table. The passed few days had been a struggle for me; I had so many questions and nothing was being answered. "I'm getting some air." I opened the back door and walked out into the cool air.
