" so... Musta ka na?" -Jing Xiao

Tanong ng babae sa lalaking naka-upo sa couch.

" okay lang, naman." -He Nian

The boy answered her question, still not giving any eye contact with the lady in front of him.

" ikaw? Kamusta ka na?" -He Nian

" ako?" -Jing Xiao

" ah hindi, yung upuan yung kinakausap ko. Kamusta ka na chair?" -He Nian

Sabi niya sabay kaway sa upuang nasa tabi niya.

Jing Xiao chuckled but was taken back when the male looked at her.

And once again, the whole room was filled with silence as the two of them looked at each other.

The atmosphere between the two of them was thick and very quiet that you can hear the air coming out from the air-con in the room.

" Jing Xiao-" -He Nian

" He Nian-" -Jing Xiao

They said at the same time making them silent all of the sudden.

" ah ikaw na mauna-" -Jing Xiao

" you go first-" -He Nian

The two of them looked at each other.

" no, I insist-" -Jing Xiao

" sige, ikaw na mauna-" -He Nian

They said again in synchronization.

A laugh came out of their lips before looking back at each other.

" Jing Xiao." -He Nian

He Nian said in a soft tone and Jing Xiao turned her head towards him.

" about what happened, u-um... That t-thing in the r-restaurant. I-I am very sorry about it." -He Nian

He scratched the back while stuttering.

" the thing in the restaurant? Nah, it's fine He Nian-ah." -Jing Xiao

Jing Xiao stood up from her seat and walked towards the couch before plopping down beside her best friend.

" do you forgive me now, Jing Xiao?" -He Nian

" yeah, God and Jesus forgives and we should too. Right?" -Jing Xiao

Jing Xiao looked at He Nian who is staring at her with hearts on both of his eyes.

" right." -He Nian

He smiled making Jing Xiao smile as well.

" so... Hug?" -Jing Xiao

She opened her arms for a hug and He Nian immediately took that, by wrapping her arms around her waist and placing his palm on her shoulder.

" I know, Si Cheng will take good care of you. But Jing Xiao..." -He Nian

He pulled away from the hug and looked at Jing Xiao.

" if Si Cheng gutted you, tell me okay?" -He Nian

" alright, as if you can even reach his head." -Jing Xiao

She chuckled as He Nian hit her arm with eyes and mouth wide open.

" hey! As if you're not that short!" -He Nian

" Yah! I'm not short. I'm just... a-a... A slow grower." -Jing Xiao

He Nian let out a loud laugh as he hit his best friend's arm.
