I knock my knuckle on the door of the house and await an answer, shuffling sounds emerge from the other side of the door. Soon after the same man from the store opens the door, he smiles softly and gestures for me to come in; I enter the home and am hit with the lovely smell of cakes.

"you must be Jackson's new friend, we've met before right," He questions leading me into the front room

"yes we have, when I was in the store with Dannie" I respond, my eyes surveying the room. It's a nice cozy house and unlike my house it feels warm, loving and homely. I can almost feel the love radiating off the walls.

"You can sit down if you want, Jacksons just getting ready" Jackson's dad explains, I nod and take a seat on the comfy sofa, I grimace slightly as my sore back hits the sofa - It still hadn't healed from yesterday.

"Thank you, sir" I say smiling at him, He chuckles lightly shaking his head, his soft brown eyes looking at me

"please Brandon don't call me sir just call me Julian" he Smiles I nod, intertwining my fingers to distract me from the slight awkwardness that hangs in the air, I watch on as Julian picks up some of the children's toys that where scattered along the floor, I hope he's not cleaning up because I'm here.

"would you like a drink or something" Julian asks, I politely decline not wanting to bother Julian too much, he seems like a busy man, my eyes wander over to the kitchen where I see that small boy from the store, he's tugging slightly on the dress of a small woman. She has long pretty black hair that is twisted in braids down to her waist, she has a small purple crystal hanging from her neck which stands out nicely against her dark brown skin.Albie turns around to head up the stairs, but his eyes light up as he spots me.

"posh boy" He yells his voice full of excitement before rushing over to me, I chuckle lightly at the nickname while he embraces me before quickly sticking his tongue out at the back of his mother's head.

"Albie don't be so rude" His mother scolds spooning some mixture into small cupcake cases Albie rolls his eyes dramatically

"Why its what Jackson calls him" Albie whines taking a seat next to me I felt slightly hurt that Jackson calls me posh boy to his parents but at the same time its kind of funny

"well that's because Brandon's Jackson's friend" Julian says. He had sat down now on the couch opposite us, a cup of steaming coffee in his hand.

"Well, Brandon's my friend too" Albie smiles brightly, looking up at me with a toothy grin I smile back at him softly

"Albie leave Brandon alone and come and and help me with the cake" Mrs. Reid calls from the kitchen Albie jumps to his feet and rushes to his mother asking excitedly if he can lick the bowl, Julian sets a small notepad on the coffee table in front of him and starts working away.

"would you like to help" Mrs. Reid asks from the kitchen turning to look at me, her plump lips stretched into a warm smile

"no thank you Mrs. Reid I would probably mess it up anyway," I respond. She shakes her head softly.

"nonsense and please just Dixie will do" Dixie says before turning back around to continue her baking Albie jumping up and down bursting with excitement

I stare on void of emotion as Dixie helps Albie up so he can mix the mixture in the bowl, Albie giggles as he flicks some of the mixture on his Father who's working at the table, I cringe slightly thinking about what his fathers going to do but I'm taken aback when he chuckles and rushes over to Albie picking him up and beginning to tickle him. i watch him and his father play fight; I feel jealous, my heart aches for that to be me. My father barley even talked to me as a kid, and in the odd chance he did it was to belittle or ridicule me.
