Chapter 8 | mines

Y/n's POV // the next day // spring 12

It was the day after Y/n had come across Sebastian at the docks.

She spent most of her day fishing before heading home to have dinner with Teriyaki.

Now with the money earned from fishing, She could use that day to explore the mines!

Previously, Y/n had already tried going into the mines.

It was successful for a while... but her luck died down when realizing too late how much time had passed.

Y/n quickly did her morning chores that day, giving some undivided love and attention to her plants and Teriyaki before walking off to the mountains.

The first parsnips had already grown and Y/n didn't hesitate to buy more after her first harvest!

She bought a couple potato seeds along with the new parsnip seeds as well!

Strolling by Robins was always a hard task itself, but now carrying the scabbard and sword Marlon gave her it weighed on her back a little more..

Getting to the mines, Y/n pondered about how the egg hunt would go..

It was just the day before and she had wanted to participate if she could get there in time.

The elevator to the 10th floor rung and Y/n stepped out.

There was no sign for any bees at the moment...

"phew.." She sighed in relief.

Y/n collected all kinds of strange minerals, having at the flying bugs around for bait later on..

When getting lower down, she spotted a chest in the corner of her eye.

Usually, city Y/n would be wary over oddly placed items as the chest, especially when she'd have to compose herself in front of others.

But Y/n was in the valley now.

She could act like herself again, just like how she was back in high school and before.

Without further hesitation, she opened the chest.

Fortunately, she hadn't found a trap, nor did she find anything else threatening to her life.. but a sword made out of steel.

It was shiny and brand new compared to her rusty, nearly broken one.

Y/n's eyes glistened with excitement as she held it in her bare hands, the gripping was immaculate.

She could just imagine how easy it's be to maneuver with her work gloves if she hadn't forgotten them that day...

"Holy shit- I must look so cool" Y/n said with a couple technical swings.

After minutes of admiring herself in the pond nearby, Y/n took the ladder deeper into the caves.

She wanted to go down one last level before leaving to visit Sebastian.

There was a moment of hesitation when walking closer to the end of the cave, a sound familiar to Y/n was quietly making its way to her.

"Where are you.." Y/n uttered to herself, nervous to her surroundings.

The buzzing was everywhere and she suddenly felt dizzy.

It was dark in the cave, somehow Y/n's vision blurred into a purple hue.

Before she knew it, a quick, smaller figure darted past her with a buzz.

She felt a warm liquid drip down the side of her head and raised her fingers to the substance as it had started to ache.
