2:40 PM

Abby, Sam, Sebastian and Y/n are sitting on the edge of the volleyball court, resting after a few good rounds of duels. Y/n has an ice pack resting against her ankle after bashing it on the volleyball pole trying to receive Sam's spike with her foot. She got up once again, not caring for a mere bruise. But eventually, her body betrayed her, rolling that same ankle after it had its work done while dropping to the floor from spiking the ball.

Y/n certainly felt the pain when landing on her feet, bending down with a small grunt as it shot up her leg.

That caught the attention of her three friends immediately, checking up on her to see if she was okay.

Abigail snatched an ice pack from her dad and pressured the farmer into taking a break. There they sat, Abigail's head on Y/n's shoulder as she rubs her arm. Sebastian sat next to Y/n, opposite Abby and Sam sat next to him.

They came up with whatever conversation to keep their day long together.

As introverted as Sebastian was, he actually enjoyed his day at the beach. Surely though, his social battery would be drained and he'd crash into bed the second he got home. But maybe it wasn't all too bad to drain all his social life into one day. Maybe he'll just take the next Friday off to sleep in his room instead of going to the Saloon...

"How's your ankle now, Y/n?" Sam asks as a comfortable silence falls over them for a while.

Sebastian glances over to Sam before turning his gaze back onto the farmer sitting next to him, anticipating an answer. She looks over at the two, her head tilting slightly as she waits. Sebastian raises a brow, gesturing for her to carry on.

"It's decent, just a little tender since the bruise is starting to swell."

Y/n answers the question, yet she stares at Sebastian as she speaks. Certainly not the guy with the higher-pitched, expressive voice that had just spoken. Sam seemed to notice but was deemed unfazed. Sure, he realized her gaze was somewhere else, but he thought the farmer was truly responding to him in return.

Sebastian noticed though. His cheeks warm, and he feels singled out in a good way. He can't help but brush away the butterflies swarming in his stomach the way her eyes look for his.

Yoba did he love the attention.

"You think I'm okay to go surfing with you guys for the last few hours?" Y/n's voice makes him tune back into reality, realizing he was just staring so intently at the farmer themself. "Ah..." his lips parted, lost in thought. He thinks for a moment, concerned as her ankle was beginning to swell. Couldn't have been good to let her out there when the water got so deep and so aggressive so quickly during the afternoon.

Sebastian's brows furrowed, shaking his head lightly. "Do you even know how to surf?" He scolds, lightly pushing her forehead with his palm as a soft punishment for thinking of even going out there when injured.

"I mean... can't be that different from skateboarding..." she grumbles out with a huff as she rubs her forehead, a pout in her lip. "Why? Do you?" Interrogates Y/n. She shoots his question back to him, expecting nothing more than a shrug. "Actually yes, I do. When you live in Pelican town, you kinda have to find shit to do and the beach is right there so..."

Gawking stupidly at Sebastian, Y/n renders his explanation in her head. Sebastian, hermit of Pelican town... knew how to surf..?

If she wasn't so eager to learn, Y/n could freak out right there out of pure shock and horny.

For some reason, the thought of Sebastian even with a surfboard was sort of hot...

Even their game of volleyball was difficult to focus on considering he was being so active.
