9:30 AM
Y/n was getting changed from her work clothes when she checked the calendar next to her bed. She noted how the flower dance was the next day and made a mental reminder not to participate.
Y/n wasn't very smooth on her feet. She bumped into things frequently and she wasn't very aware of her surroundings most of the time. The farmer had trouble coordinating herself, and with the useful knowledge, came less embarrassment for her. She didn't wanna make a fool out of herself in front of the entire town, so on the sidelines, she was fine lurking around.
Maybe some other year, Y/n thought. But who was to know who she'd think of asking by then. It could be someone totally different from the one person she had in mind now.
Shaking her head, Y/n brushed the ideas away as she stared at herself in the mirror. That day was less of a workday, but more of a self-care one.
She wanted time for herself and to relax her overworked muscles from their aching so instead of the usual overalls and t-shirt beneath it, Y/n wore beige cargo pants, a cream-coloured lace bralette, and an oversized see-through black button-up. It flowed along with the breeze with each step she took and with her many crystal necklaces and rings, Y/n took herself down the path towards the town for food restocks at Pierre's, a cream-coloured tote bag hanging from her shoulder.
She felt sort of vulnerable wearing something other than her work clothes to town, especially when she passed Harvey and caught his eyes on her figure. He gave her a kind smile, sheepish eyes latching onto hers with desperate wishes that she hadn't noticed his staring.
But Y/n found his eyes lurking on her outfit to be nothing strange. After all, there wasn't one run around the valley where she wore her regular, casual clothing.
Walking into Pierre's, the local store was air-conditioned and smelt of lavender. Y/n inhaled a refreshing breath of air and suddenly her muscles relaxed upon entering. Her worries went away now that she was somewhere more secluded. It seemed the store wasn't too busy that day.
Still, there was someone unexpected.
As Pierre was just about to greet Y/n, he pauses when he sees her sneak into the aisle Shane sauntered into. He smiled to himself and continued to organize the magazines on his counter. Y/n hadn't changed one bit.
Quick yet silent to match his pace, Y/n snuck behind him when he turned to look for a certain ramen. Surprisingly, he hadn't caught eye of her. Frowning, Shane grumbled to himself when he saw his favourite brand was out of stock and spun to check the other side.
When doing so, he yells as he is startled by
Y/n's presence close to his, giving him a mini heart attack. Shane didn't even hear or see her from behind him... just how sneaky was this kid?
"Jesus Y/n!" Shane scowls and he turns with annoyance to shade the red forming in his cheeks from the embarrassment of being startled by some farmer with nothing better to do. "Hey, Shane." Y/n muses. She followed his footsteps, trying to catch his eyes with hers as she picks up her pace to walk by his side.
"What do you want now?" He grunts, casting his eyes to the ceiling. Shane was truly impressed by how easily Y/n was able to irritate him. One look down though, and he knew he wouldn't be able to say no to whatever it is she wanted from him.
Y/n had doe eyes that could capture and kill those who are entranced with them. Whether they were genuine or fake, Y/n was easily persuasive when it came to her easygoing manner and eyes that played with hearts.
Even Shane had to admit he's fallen into her trap before. Especially when they were only kids.
She was a dangerous kind of woman, reminding Shane a lot of those girls he saw on TV in the movies who'd often lead men on only for them to use him for their advantage. Seducing, trapping them, leaving them to rot. When he visited the city, Shane would frequently see those kinds of girls lurking at night. Drunken and grey with guilt and a melancholy look in their eyes.
