A week after beach day // Summer 7 // 9:00 AM
Y/n has been working non-stop. The skin of her hands was cut and calloused, bruised with overuse. She noticed how sore she'd been and tried to get into the habit of stretching before she sleeps.
It was a peaceful life. Getting up, tending to crops, fixing up her farm...
Mining and slaying all monsters that tried to come between her and the levels she faced in the deep of the mines.
Y/n distracted herself from the town, only ever going into it to buy some seeds or finish some requests. Still, she hardly spoke to anyone at all in the past week. Some whisper about her. How the incident on the beach must've caused a scare within her.
She seemed a lot less talkative and outgoing, a little colder.
Y/n simply needed to cool down from such a horrifying experience. She distracted her thoughts with work.
Swallowing, she exhaled deeply as she stands in front of Robin's home, looking for a friend to talk to.
"Ugh..."
Y/n perks up, head turning to look towards the open garage she didn't notice before as a voice her mind renders as special reaches her ears. It's as if the rest of the world's volume is lowered just so she can hear the aspects of his voice.
"Sebastian..?" Y/n calls out. She nears the open garage with a curious look on her face, dazed as he slides from under a motorcycle, rubbing off the residue left on his cheek from changing the oil.
He's dumbfounded for a moment, unable to realize the situation he's in before his face flushes with a sheepish expression, trying to clean himself from any mess. "Oh, h-hello, Y/n." He stammers, wiping his jaw with his T-shirt.
Y/n smiles, looking comforted somehow as she closes in on him, leaning down so her heels are planted firmly to the ground and her arms are around her legs. She kneels next to him, smiling gratefully for his presence.
"Didn't know you had a motorcycle, Bas." She muses, a sort of adoration hinted in her eyes. Y/n just couldn't help but feel happy to know a little more about Sebastian. And Sebastian couldn't feel more over the moon at the nickname she gave him.
"You... haven't seen it before..?" Sebastian raises a brow, sweat dripping from his neck. Y/n simply shakes her head.
"Hmm... I guess I haven't shown it to you."
The farmer tilts her head only slightly, but it's enough for Sebastian's heart to clench dramatically in his chest.
He slides back under his motorcycle to finish the work. But truly, it's an escape disguised as a job that needed finishing to hide the red tint in his cheeks. Suddenly, he felt regret for wiping off the oil. For it could've assisted in shading the obvious blush that ran over his nose.
There was a moment of silence between them but it was nothing uncomfortable or awkward like Sebastian interpreted it to be.
Y/n simply waited patiently for him to finish.
Then, he continues.
"Sometimes, after sundown, I make the long ride out of Stardew Valley..."
He listens to the shuffle of her clothes, in the corner of his eye, her position changing so she was looking up at the blue skies above them.
"Hmm... that sounds relaxing." She sighs, a smile on her face.
Sebastian seems to offer a grin back, appreciative of her attention to his stories.
"There's nothing else like it, blazing along the empty stretch of road toward the faint glow..."
Y/n can't help but imagine his words. She thought of riding with him. Arms clasped around his waist, head resting on his back. She could imagine how the wind could feel rushing past them. The city lights are in the distance. Surely if there was one thing that Y/n missed about the city. It would have to be the bright and colourful lights. It was synthetic. But creation has no difference in beauty. As plastic as the lights were, they were still as beautiful.
