Meanwhile, Y/n is scurrying to water plants and finish feeding her chickens so she could use the rest of her hours to catch fish for money. Her outfit was half-assed, her hair a mess and even her cats' water bowl empty. Too bad she'd woken up late that day- if it wasn't for that stupid dream she enjoyed too much to realize it was way past her usual schedule.

Even watering her plants, she seemed to drift off, thinking deeply about her dream as she accidentally drowns her plant. She doesn't realize it until the water reaches her boot.

"Shit-" curses Y/n beneath her breath. She scrambled to the ground, feeling the dirt and shutting her eyes tightly as she realizes she has no clue what to do whenever watering a plant. Her lack of experience comes back to her, only being a farmer in the valley for a season; she seemed to forget.

"Sorry... I should maybe study a bit more about farming huh? Ask Linus if he knows a few tips for keeping you healthy..."

Y/n speaks to the plant, lifting a leaf which has begun to droop beneath her fingertips.

She can already feel the difference in texture, moping about as she begins to apologize continuously to her plant.

"That's a plant."

Suddenly alerted, Y/n perks up when Shane's voice suddenly creeps up behind her. "Yeah." She confirms, confused as he looks down at her weirdly with a stupid smile on his face.

"Why are you apologizing to it?" He huffs out, hands in his pockets as he toys with his house keys and wallet. He seems to be in a decent mood today. Y/n likes the way he smiles. When he stands with his posture straight so it shows off his dad-bod Y/n shamelessly noticed the first time he stood tall.

"Ahem- I drowned it by accident..." she coughed, covering her mouth as she turned away to hide the blush on her cheeks. Yoba does the countryside produce high-quality humans...

Picking up a wilting leaf, Y/n watches as it droops after letting go of it, sighing out with disappointment. Shane leans down next to her, his zip-up smelling of detergent after finally washing his clothes.

"It's a plant." His fingers brush against the wet soil, grimacing when he realizes he's touched a puddle of water mixed with dirt. How much can one zone out to have drowned a plant this much?

He glances at Y/n, her expression pained with shame in the corner of his eye as if she knew exactly what Shane was thinking. "Plants grow better when you talk to them, they're living things." She shrugs. Her overall strap falls off her shoulder she does, her hand slowly pulling it back up as she lets herself sit cross-legged on the dirt.

Shane pays attention to her closely, the way she easily lets emotions sway her actions. She was so easily see-through yet so difficult to understand. How can one be so vulnerable yet have walls so thick and tall that barely anybody could pass through them?

"Why don't you compliment it more then?" Shane encourages, nudging her gently with his shoulder as he sits next to her, not caring for his clothes getting dirtied once again after just washing them.

Y/n peers over, their eyes locking for a few seconds before Y/n nods, her brows knitting as determination hits her.

"YOU LOOK HOT WITH WATER DRIPPING DOWN YOUR BODY." She yells at the plant suddenly. Shane is almost afraid, watching as she begins to flirt with it, finger guns, winking and all. She even decides to slam her hand on the open dirt next to it as if wall-slamming, smirking devilishly as she continues to try and make the plant swoon.

"I don't think this is how it's supposed to go..." Shane utters in disbelief. What exactly was he watching right now?

"Ahh..." Once again, Y/n lacks hope as she practically deflated in front of Shane, inhaling through her nose and exhaling through her mouth, letting out a line of groans, wilting in her spot so her head rests on Shane's shoulder. He pauses at this, tensing beneath her touch.
