You were here
And she was there
You knew you loved her
More than air
It hit you too late
All so sudden
Because what happened
You never saw coming
She was too innocent
She was too selfless
Her love for you
Was forever endless
You ran to her
You wanted to save her
But it was too late
She was already gone.
She loved you
So very much
She loved you
And your gentle touch
She loved your smile
And your brilliant laugh
The tears that you cried
You were her other half
She was in love with you
And she fell hard
She knew this would happen
Right from the start
She lay on the ground
The snow on her skin
And she stared at the sky
Like it always has been
And the tears overflowed
As she thought of your eyes
She said one last thing
"I love you, goodbye."
And when you showed up
It was seconds late
You held her hand close
But you knew, she was gone.
