Look at all the stars that are shining up above
I set up this blanket, so you would lie down next to me
and we could watch the stars in the sky, side by side
But I wish the stars weren't the only things you see
I run to catch up with you, and start the conversation
because I know you can be quiet, and don't always know what to say
And I smile whenever you do, because you look so nice when you smile
Just you or your lack of presence can make or dampen my day
I like talking to you even when the wind is blowing hard
Or even when the pavement is littered with droplets, I walk with you in the rain
Even when I'm freezing cold and I want to bury my face in my scarf
I talk with you anyways, because the smile it causes drives me insane
But I wish you would only see
That everything I do
Real, and not real
