It was quiet
You know
When I heard the sound
Tapping at my window
I put down my grief
And I took a look outside
To the world that I had thought
I left far far behind
Then I saw you
And I thought it was a dream
Because you were still young
And your eyes still gleamed
You laced our hands
And walked towards the glass
And when we stepped forward
We were outside on the grass
It smelled just like spring
The clovers wet with dew
The dirt was nice and soft
And flowers were there, too
And then the sky, oh the sky
It began to rumble so loud
And thick drops of rain
Came pouring down
Let us dance! you had said
And you lead me on the green
We left foot prints on
For everyone to see
And as the rain trailed on
Running down our arms
I asked what this was
Where is it we are?
You smiled so wide
And you showed me your spine
Where great wings fluttered out
All is good
No more to worry about
Look, don't you see?
Look closer, my dear
The rain has come again
For all to embrace and to hear.
