"AH, I'M SO EXCITED TO TRY SOME HOT DRESSES ON!" a loud pitched voice squealed, making galatea look over from her gaze out the window. the excited girl was running her hands through her reddish-brown hair, gossiping about the latest fashion trends and who other teenagers with the other girls in the car. galatea groaned at her best friend's high pitched voice, wanting to shove a hand in her face, though, from her spot in the back seat, that wouldn't be very safe. an amused chuckle came from the drivers seat of the chevy impala, which made galatea look over at angela webber, another one of her closest friends. the girl was quiet, but dutifully listening into the conversation at hand, which she could just not understand. of course, galatea wanted so badly to find the perfect dress of her dreams for prom, but at the same time, why should she cut down others choices. everyone had their own perfect.
"i'm sure you'll find the best and most hottest dress ever, jess," angela chimed in, making the trio burst into laughter at her faux british accent. and just like that, the girl pulled up to a stop in front of the police chief's house, where bella swan was waiting on her porch. the new girl grew a smile, rushing through the front lawn towards the blue car. galatea opened the back door for her, letting her climb in and sit down. with the new addition brought new conversation, all about what bella was planning on wearing. all three girls were convinced the swan girl did not want to go, as she had a family thing, but when they mentioned the destination- port angeles, bella was eager to come along.
"i think i'm aiming for green, or yellow. i don't want a basic blue, pink, or black dress- no offense ladies, but i want something that really compliments my skin tone, and pink ain't cutting it." galatea offered, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. angela and bella nodded in thought, and jessica offered a smile in support.
"omg, yes! i think yellow or green would look amazing, and it's definetly not a popular color so far, from what i've heard through the grape vine so far. i'm excited to see what you pick out," jess brushed her hair off her shoulders, looking at galatea through the mirror, "i'm going for pink, which just means i'll have to kill the competition for that crown. no problem." they all laughed at that, knowing full well that jessica stanley would not back down from the competition.
"oh, right, bella we are picking up this one's boyfriend~" jessica teased, reaching behind to shove galatea's knee. the girl flushed, swatting at her hands as she rolled her eyes. yes, she had a boyfriend. an amazing boyfriend actually. tyler crowley, galatea's absolute best friend in the entire world. the two had known each other since kids, growing up in the small town of forks. it was only until the previous year when their friendship had started to change to incorporate new found feelings. they fell into a relationship so easily, like they were soulmates.
"you and your never-ending pestering," she complained, hiding her face into bella's shoulder. the brunette chuckled, gently patting the embarrassed girl's head in support.

IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO REACH THE CROWLEY'S FAMILY HOME, tyler rushing to the car to see them. it hadn't actually taken long to convince him to come along, even though he would be sitting around offering commentary on the girl's dresses. he took the passenger and jess stuffed into the middle seat and then the five were off on the hour and a half long drive to port angeles.
when they arrived at the small boutique, jessica rushed into the racks of beautiful dresses, pulling angela with. galatea, bella, and tyler had stuck to the front, slowly taking a look over the dresses. soon bella had lost interest, choosing to sit by the window and read a book, a classic bella move. it left the couple to themselves, quietly conversing as they looked over some dresses.
"what do you think of this one? too flashy? maybe too much sequins, but is there ever too many sequins? i-" galatea pulled a sage green dress off the rack, unintentionally over examining the dress down to the point, which caused tyler's eyes to widen.
"whoa, whoa, whoa. baby, calm down. you will look beautiful in anything." tyler smiled, pushing the dress down. he took ahold of her hand, tugging her along into the more formal dresses. galatea followed behind, still keeping an eye out for any yellow dresses. surprisingly, tyler lead her right towards a beautiful floor length yellow dress with flowy ruffles down the legs. the top was thin, spaghetti-like straps that had lace wrapping around them and down the sweetheart neck line.
"okay. this is it. no doubt."
"go try it on!" tyler grinned, growing excited over the dress. he may or may not have asked jessica exactly what galatea was looking for so he could impress her with a choice.
while jessica and angela were trying on their dresses in the rooms by the mirror in the front, galatea used the more private one, wanting to surprise her friends with the dress. as soon as it was on, she felt like royalty. she might of well have been, as the dress hugged every beautiful feature on her body, showing off a little, but not too much skin and suited her so well.
she just knew that tyler would love it.
"oh my gosh. i must have died and went to heaven. are you an angel?" tyler asked when she walked out of the dressing room. he was literally stunned, frozen to the floor as she walked out. galatea blushed, knowing that he liked it. it gave her so much more confidence then she already had, making her feel like she was floating.
"thank you, tyler. this is perfect," she placed a hand on his cheek, pulling him into a hug, careful not to wrinkle the dress. after he could actually function properly, he eagerly lead her out to the main room, where bella noticed her first. her jaw dropped, blinking as the normally casually-dressed girl showed off her dress. the yellow really complimented her dark skin tone, making the dress pop.
"wow. you look amazing." it caught the other two girl's attention from their mirrors. they turned over to see galatea, each having similar reactions. at this point galatea was a puddle of mush as her friends and boyfriend threw compliment after compliment.
everything was going perfectly until she noticed something out the window of the shop. as soon as she saw it, it was gone. but she knew it was there. a flash of red hair. really familiar red hair. the chances of him being there too were not entirely impossible, but she must've been seeing something. but that feeling wouldn't go away.
apparently bella noticed cause she explained.
"oh there was some weird guys out there earlier. they might still be there if you saw anything." the other girls nodded in conformation and began examining their own dresses again. jess picked a magenta pink dress that showed off cleavage, where as Angela picked a soft greenie-blue dress that fit her slim figure and legs.
bella left to go check out a book store, and the girls all picked out their accessories and the day was over. they met up over dinner and tyler paid for galatea like a gentlemen. when she got home, after hanging her dress up and getting ready, she went to bed.
