"DO I HAVE TO GO?" you sighed, looking pleadingly at your parents with your best friend seth. you both had puppy eyes on, his being a little more realistic. edward snorted at that thought, watching from the couch as carlisle and esme packed luggage for the trip. they were headed to egypt to try and recruit their old friends to the cause. esme, your mom, grinned, patting you on the head."yes. no arguing. we'll back in a week hopefully. you'll see seth when we get back," she gave you that mother look and you groaned, leaning your head on seth's shoulder. he shrugged, accidentally hutting your head, which you smacked him in retaliation (not that it did much.) he had a pout on his face. you had a prank planned on the wolves that you were so excited for, so when your dad announced you'd be leaving to egypt, you and seth were upset.
"plus, alice says you'll enjoy the trip," her lip twitched up slightly, something you noticed immediately. living with them for fifteen years gave you some experience in reading them. curiousity washed through your emotions and you exchanged a look with seth who looked equally as confused. glancing at edward for help, you were met with an empty couch.
'wow, thanks.'
"jasper!" you called, feeling suddenly excited about the whole idea. your emotions dimmed slightly, but you could tell he was still influencing them from wherever he was. carlisle flitted by with your suitcase and you sighed heavily, flailing your arms and falling to the floor. seth of course caught your arm with his quick reflexes, but let you slowly slide down to the floor. you laid there in silent distress.
"oh come on n/n. it wont be that bad."

"HERE WE ARE. NOW N/N, YOU MET AMUN ONCE. just make sure you are respectful and don't make any comments," carlisle warned as the car approached the huge house with trees and fountains alongside the gates. you were actually enjoying egypt a bit. the city you were in was huge, and there were animals everywhere, pulling carts and hauling loads. the streets were crowded with people, which you connected to the vampires living there. hoards of people. well, you enjoyed everything but the attention. your fancy car was highly different than anything there, alice's pick. you felt uncomfortable at all the stares, some more hostile than others.
as you opened the door of the car, you were hit with the blistering heat. shuffling towards esme, you took her side. you had this feeling wash over you, like something major was about to happen. your stomach was flipping, but esme grasped your hand. in the blink of an eye, two vampires appeared in front of you. being used to it, you hardly flinched, which is something they found curious. amun recognized you of course, but his mate didn't.
"carlisle, esme, y/n, what a wonderful surprise," amun greeted, yet it wasn't as much joyful as it was cautious. your dad had told you all about him and his past, and how he was intense and nervous. the news must of reached them in egypt. it would be hard to convince him, as amun made the decisions in his coven. he was as stubborn as a bull.
"amun, kebi. wonderful to see you again. we've come to ask some of you," carlisle started, but by the glance kebi gave amun, you knew it wasn't good.
"listen carlisle, we don't want any more trouble with the volturi." you winced, a shiver shooting up your spine at the name. lets just say your memories with them weren't the best. before anymore words were said, they turned, trying to head back into their house. your parents stepped forward, hastily following them. you took a slower approach, feeling a sudden nerve, like someone was watching you. correct you were as you glanced up to one of the many windows of the house, seeing a figure standing there. before your eyes could focus, they were gone.
