"Where are we?" You hear a tiny whisper from underneath your scarf."Shut up." You whisper shout to the animal squirming in your hands behind your shawl, as you try to maintain a straight face.
"I want to see too, bitch." He rests his head on your palm. You try to find a corner in the bazaar, so that you could attract the least attention than anyone present there. You slip behind a pile of sacks filled with wheat, which some newcomer merchant had tied together with a string as he himself was missing from the scene.
When you are sure that no one was really looking towards your direction, you give a light slap on Hamza's butt. "I told you to keep quiet, you really want to get me in trouble dont you?"
"You are a hoe." He says as he rests back on your palms.
"Thanks." You mutter.
"Now get back inside my bag, and don't come out unless I say so."
"I'm not gay, why would I come out?"
You click your tongue. "Such a pain in the head."
Your eyes scan the scenery around you. There was a big bonfire right in the middle of the bazaar, a ring of humans surrounding it as they chuckled and talked and gossiped. There were musicians in the distance tuning their drums and instruments for the upcoming dance which took place every year.
You were excited for today, this was the first time you were joining the couple dance.
There were dancers next to the walls practicing some moves in sync as they mumbled lyrics under their breaths. What caught your attention much later was, that there were couples everywhere. You saw plenty of guys kissing their girlfriends' hands, some handing them roses, some standing hand in hand in front of the bonfire.
Today was the night of proposals. Today was when people could ask their only one, their special one, for their hand in marriage. Today was the day which had united so many legendary lovers and weaved out phenomenal love stories.
Your lips twitch into a smile, gazing at the loving scenery in front of you, so many people in love, ready to give up anything for it. You wished to experience it too, and you could, only if certain chains didn't hold you back.
Don't think about it.
You tell yourself. It's only going to ruin your mood.
You were here to look for the guy from before. The helpful guy, the angel. Your eyes wander over every male's face, trying to match them with the image you had in mind.
You walk to the other side of the place, surpassing many stalls under the night sky to reach a snake charmer.
He was blowing air into a woodwind instrument, making hypnotising sounds emit from it, which seemed to make the snake in the box move like a puppet, it astonished you, how he controlled such a threatening and poisonous reptile as if he was not even trying.
You stand there in front of him, resting your weight on one leg, watching his moves as you ponder upon his techniques.
Suddenly you hear a familiar giggle from behind you.
"Stop, Jungkook."
Jungkook?
You spin around within a snap, making the tiny lion in your bag tumble to the other side.
"Ow!"
A muffled moan escapes from below. You give it a light pat from the outside as you, without thinking, rush towards where the sound came from.
You see a familiar figure's shadow disappear into one of the streets as you follow.
Your instincts tell you that you were going to find the man from the other day, your luck was going to shine today.
Until you stop in your steps.
You gaze upon the scene in front as it somewhat disappoints you, although it shouldn't.
"What happened?" Hamza asks in a low tone, sensing your stillness. "Should I come out?"
"No-" you whisper as you trudge back and start to walk backwards. Your heart pains, as you feel it tearing apart into a million shreds. Your excitement dies, your curiosity increases but saddens you furthermore.
"Is everything okay, Yn?" Hamza's tone from underneath the fabrics was concerned now, you smiled weakly.
"Yeah, don't worry." You say.
"You want a partner for dance right?" He asks.
"Oh come on." You say as you sit behind the wheat sacks again. "No one's on my level here." You force a laugh.
"Why do you need anyone else when I'm here, Mrs. Hamza?" He shrieks seeing through you. "Don't tell me you're cheating on me."
You face palm yourself as you laugh at him, soon putting a hand inside to caress his forehead.
"We'll find you a lioness for that, you flirt."
You sigh looking forward at the bonfire again.
"Jungkook, stop it." The girl giggles as the tall male holds her against the wall, wrists on the side.
"You think I'd go easy on you?"
The girl sticks out a tongue to him.
"Ayat, we still have to dance, I'll show you what I can do there." He says tugging on her wrists.
You felt bad. You really did.
But who were you to think he would wait for you.
Bold of you to assume someone will fall for you within one meet. Heck you didn't even know if he was single or not.
But was there anything you could do? No.
You could just find someone else, this was expected now that you think of it.
So you get back up and decide to join the main dance area, hoping someone will ask you for a dance although your face was all covered and you didn't expect anyone to notice you.
"Don't. Come. Out." You warn your pet through gritted teeth as you place the bag on the side of the street. "It'll be a sin." You say.
"Pftt okay." He answers. "You timely travel worlds but your mind is still close minded-"
"Shh!" You say as your eyes shoot up to check if anyone heard.
You get back up as your long braid swings with your hips while you walk towards the middle.
You didn't know why, everyone looks at you. You had your face covered, but still, all eyes on you.
You were sure nothing was wrong with your dress and your face was clean too. Then what was it?
"Y/N?" A voice fills your ears.
