Jungkook's feet were burning. His face was sweating from top to bottom, skin almost burning off of his body from the scorching heat that shone upon him.

The hot sand underneath his soles was too much to handle, all he could do was clutch onto his tote bag and trip through his journey. He pants, when he feels a sudden urge to drink water, but he only finds an empty bottle inside his bag.

Mirages and illusions and hallucinations. Some of an oasis, some of your figure which makes his heart drop. He runs a bit up to you only to see your image vanish, his mind was playing tricks with him.

He cries, he was tired. He was exhausted, he couldn't take it anymore. The sand was also starting to feel like it was sucking his feet in, only he knows how he was managing to not sink into the dunes beneath.

He walks, walks and walks until he suddenly feels his feet lose him. He falls on his face, his bag goes flying in a distance as his eyes slowly shut close.

He couldn't take it anymore. It was too much.

Turning around to face the sky, Jungkook rests a hand on his eye to block the sharp sunlight blinding his vision. All he sees behind his eyelids, is you.

Your lifeless face, your hopes and your belief in him. You believed in Jungkook, he had to pay you back. No one understood him other than you, no one could've let him prove himself other than you.

No one would've come back to him other than you.

Even if his plan fails, he can at least try. If he refuses to try until he can't no more, then he's not going to be able to ever provide you justice. He'll never be able to sleep for the rest of his life thinking that how dare he return alive and empty handed at the same time.

Taehyung's face flashes in front of his eyes. That similar smirk, and that feeling that even though Taehyung couldn't get you in the end, he managed to separate you both before dying.

He gets back up, for what felt like the hundredth time. At first, his face was poor and worn out. But now, it was lit back up with determination and dedication for you. He had to make sure your faith in him serves you right.

It wasn't far anymore. His destination was so, so close and he couldn't fall apart right now. If he returns from here, he'll not be able to forgive himself for still thinking about his own self. For not being able to tolerate some torture for a while when you suffered for so long just for him.

He hears the many taunts that were thrown at him by everyone once you lost your life. Those voices irritate him, and he knows it's his fault. He should've protected you. Your absence makes him lose his mind with fear, how can you be dead?!

Just how can you be dead out of everyone??

Jungkook was in mere terror because his only one was now gone. He has to reach that temple if he wants to change this fact.

Slowly, the desert starts to end.

Jungkook sees the huge abandoned temple made out of grey coloured bricks, big figures of elephant heads carved out on either sides of the gate.

There were wines and moss covering the whole structure, the gate slightly open and some trees shading the courtyard of the place.

He sighs as he runs a hand through his hair. Finally.

Jungkook slowly walks into the interior of the temple, observing every detail of this place, the main gate approaching him slowly.

He palms a hand on the wooden gate, slightly pushing it open as he takes a peek inside. A man sitting with his legs crossed in front of a few scriptures, he turns his head back to look at Jungkook who immediately lowers himself in respect.
