Your hands clutch the leather of the rough harness gently, contradicting to its hold on you. Your body bends forward, eyes careful and alarmed, almost squinted to make sure you don't make a move you'll regret.Your body lifts up as your balance on your knees, slowly letting go of the harness as you ride the running horse beneath you.
It's difficult to control the animal and it's been a while since you've done this.
Sliding your hand to get another arrow from the quiver, your fingers feel the patterned wood and the ticklish feathers attached to the lower part of the arrows.
You now guide the horse to walk slowly and silently, keeping harmony with the surroundings which consist of nothing more than occasional hoots from birds.
Bringing the arrow to the bowstring, you pull.
Your one eye closes as you aim as if it's your last shot, the last shot of your life. Your tongue clutched between your teeth, your jaw clenched out of focus.
You wait for your heart to tell you that this is the right moment to let it go, let the arrow dispatch from your hands and meet its destiny, and as soon as you hear the voice inside your head give you the right cue, your fingers unwind.
You see the arrow shoot away from you, shrinking and shrinking, cutting through the wind like a fish through water- until it finally hits the skin of the wild boar.
It stills, the motion it once beheld gradually vanishing and the feet it stood upon lose him. Your lips curl into an O shape, as a gust of wind escapes them and you release a tiny 'whew!'.
"Finally!" You say as the guards following behind walk forward with a wooden cart to place the wild animal's body upon it.
"You're good at hunting, princess." Another guard tells you and you wipe the sweat on your forehead.
"I haven't practiced in so long though, I could do better!" You laugh.
"Only if you lived over here in the city." He smiles before leading the other two guards out of the area along with the boar.
Your heart skips a beat as your smile falls, you clutch the crossbow in your hands tighter, almost digging your nails into the wood.
Drawing your lips to a thin line, you command the horse to turn backwards, and gallop back into the open.
You feel stuck up for saying this, but couldn't the guard just have stayed quiet? You know he means no harm, but..
Soon you reach the middle of the garden where the view of painting colours and an easel catches your eye. You get off the horse and tie his harness to a tree, before walking towards Jungkook, who was painting a scenery of the garden like he planned when he first came here.
"Did you get something?" he asks putting the brush down to hold you for a little peck on the lips.
"A wild boar, it was." You say sighing as you push your hair back, trying to get it out of your face as you sit down comfortably on the grass.
"What!" He exclaims kneeling down. "Did you guys kill it?" He holds your shoulders. "A wild boar in the middle of a garden?"
"It probably stayed unnoticed since this place's too big." You stretch your arms and pop your stiff muscles as he watches you with big eyes. So this boar, probably, was what caused movement when you hurt your foot the first day you came here.
"You just caught a boar! How cool is that, why won't you react?" He asks you but you look towards his painting with a downcast face.
"Someone ruined my mood, but leave that. I don't care about that." You say. "Show me what you painted." You look back at him with a smile. "It's cooler."
