EDITED
"Maybe she's just confused?" Haylie suggested as she walked towards the school with Scott and Stiles. "She has no idea what's happening to her, wouldn't that drive you a little insane?"
Scott shrugged. "I didn't know what was happening. I didn't run around the woods naked."
"But there must have been a reason for that." Stiles pitched in. "What do you think kept you sane?"
Scott broke out into a grin. "Alison."
Both the twins rolled their eyes at the response. "That's it? Nothing else?" Stiles encouraged.
Scott shook his head and Haylie hit her brother playfully on the arm. "But that's good, because the night she was bit she was with you?"
Stiles didn't even bother to force a smile at his sister's lame attempt at hope. "Yeah but she was looking for Jackson."
The bell signalled and Haylie sighed before looking back to Scott. "Go to practice. Talk to Jackson and see if there's anything he can do to help. I'm going to look for Isaac Lahey."
"Why?" Stiles frowned. She wasn't surprised. She hadn't spoken to that boy in years. If she ever even spoke to him.
"He works at the graveyard for his dad. He was there last night, maybe he saw something he's too scared to admit." The sheriff came home with the terrifying revelation that there was a grave robbery last night. The only thing taken was a liver and considering the wolves running around, they couldn't leave anything to chance about what could have done that.
They all went in their separate directions and Haylie lifted the bag higher on her shoulder as she turned the corner to find Max at his locker. "Hey Max." Her grin was genuine when he turned to face her. His classic boy next door when the backwards cap never failed to make her smile.
"Hey. Big smile today. Should I be worried." Considering the state of her best friend, that grin suddenly disappeared and was replaced by guilt. "I was kidding Haylie relax."
She shook the thought away and leant her back against the lockers beside his. "Have you seen Isaac Lahey?"
Max's face mirrored her brothers at the question, but he still shrugged. "If I had to guess, he'd be at practice."
"He's on the team?" He laughed at her shocked expression but nodded. "I didn't know."
"I wouldn't say he's a star player. Why are you looking for him?"
She shrugged, obviously not able to tell him the real reason. "Chemistry stuff." She shook off as he shut his locker and leant his shoulder on it to mirror her.
He took a deep breath and she thought he might try and ask her out again but instead his eyes turned soft. "How are you feeling?"
She knew he meant with Lydia and she forced that smile back on with a nod. "Worried. But my dad will find her."
"Jackson was pretty upset earlier." She stood up straight.
"What do you mean?" Yes, he was her boyfriend before all this, but it didn't scream Jackson to show anyone else that he actually cared about her.
Max shrugged. "Last class, he ran out with a nosebleed. I know he used to get them when we were kids all the time, but he seemed pretty freaked."
"Where is he?" Max shrugged again. "I should probably go find him make sure he's okay." She tried to excuse but before she could run off in another direction another voice entered the conversation.
"Miss Stilinksi." Max straightened as well when Dan stopped between the two of them with a bright white smile and bright blue eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Haylie might have seemed rude to Max, but Dan just cocked his head, used to the treatment now.
