Chapter 22

Haylie pov

"If Jackson doesnt remember being the Kanima then hes definitly not gonna remember stealing Dannys tablet."Scott said as we walked away from the van. He finaly showed up after talking to Danny. Allison came once school had finished. We had parked the car near the cliff of the falls.

"Why would he steal it if he doesnt even know whats on it?" Stiles asked. I folded my arms from the cold.

"What if someone else took it?" I asked.

"That means someone else knows what he is." Allison said.

"Whic means someone could be protecting him." Scott suggested. I nodded

"Yeah, The beasteary says the Kanima seeks a friend right? Or at least thats what The shrink told Allison." I said mainly to Scott. But Stiles spoke next.

"Okay so what? Someone watches Jackson make a video of himself turning into the Kanima but then erases some of it just so he wouldnt know?" No body spoke. "Wo would do that?"

"Somebody wanted to protect him?" Allilson asked but we were all confused on why.

"This doesnt make sense. You said the only thing you found online was that it goes after murderes." Scott said to Stiles. "What if thats actually true?

"It cant be it tried to kill all of us remember. I dunno about you three but I havent killed anybody. Scott shook his head.

"I dont think it was actually trying to kill us." Scott turned to Alison. "Remember when we were at Isaacs the first time? It just went straight by us." She nodded.

"Your right, it just ran off." She answered.

"And it didnt kill you at the mechanics garage." He said to Stiles.

"Well yeah, but it tried to kill me an Derek at the pool." He said.

"Did it?" Stiles opened his mouth but I got their first.

"What about me? Mabe your forgetting but it did kill me. Dead."

"Maybe it wasnt on purpose. It just paralysed you but then you fell in." I looked away. "Theres something else going on. and we dont know what it is. We dont know what is going on with Jackson or why someones protecting him.."

"Know thy enemy." Allison said quietly but we all heard. "Its just, Something my Grandfather said." She shook it off.

"Alright I got it! Kill jackson problem solved." Stiles uggested and we all gave him a glare.

"He risked his life for us." I said. "Against Peter. Do you remember that?" I said thinking about those events.

"Yes but what did we just find out? He got the bite from Derek. Its funny how he got exactly what he wanted by supposidly risking his life for us." He replied and I had to admit he had a point.

"That doesnt mean hes not still worth saving." I told him.

"He doesnt know what hes doing." Scott interuppted.

"So what?" Stiles said still sticking to his plan.

"So I didnt either! You remember when I almost killed you and Jackson?" Scott said to Allison and she nodded. "I had Derek to stop me. He has nobody." I felt sorry for Jackson.  Scott was right he didnt have anyone.

"Thats his own fault." Stiles said and rubbed the back of his head. I shook my head.

"It doesnt matter. If we can save him. We need to try." I looked to my watch. "I need to get to dance. Scott why dont you stay here tonight since Stiles stayed last night." Scott nodded.
