The sound of light rain on my window pulled me out of my sleep. What time was it!? I shot up, throwing my legs over the side of my bed, ignoring the small pains. I need to see Levi to go over his plan. What if he already did something? No, he wouldn't. Levi wouldn't do that, not without telling me something first, I reassured myself, my eyes finding the teacup with a note beside it. Small wisps of steam still rolling off of its surface. Did I just miss him? I let out a yawn as I made my way to the table, my steps uneven. Why was I so tired? I glanced out the window, it was overcast and rainy, it looked to be early in the morning or late in the afternoon. I took the piece of paper into my hands, my eyes still adjusting to the light.
Apprehended the boy, you're safe. Don't worry too much, focus on getting your strength back.
-Levi
I read the note over again. He did what?! A sigh escaped my mouth as I sat down at the small table, inspecting the tea. No dead baby bird this time, right? I shook my head at the thought, bringing the cup to my mouth, the warmth relaxing me. Another sigh escaped me but this time I allowed my whole body to relax. It's fine. It's not like Levi would actually seriously injure Lily and Logan...
"Damn." I finished the tea quickly sending the rest of the warmth to the back of my throat in a hurry. I had no idea where Levi might be keeping him, but I knew who would.
...
"Oh, Levi? Hm." Hange placed her hand on her chin, her eyes looking up to the cloudy sky. "Oh, that's right! He's interrogating someone-." Hange halted her words. "Oohhhh, you want to go save your guy, huh?" Hange smiled at me, her hand still resting on her chin. My back straightened at her words, heat rushing to my face.
"It's not like that." I shook my head vigorously. "It's just that Levi will go overboard and-"
"And you don't want Levi to mess up his pretty face, right?" Hange's hand was now pointing at me, her smile now a smirk as she winked. "HA! I haven't even seen the guy but by your reaction, he must be a looker!" I swallowed at Hange's loud voice. I shouldn't have asked her. "Alright, let's go!" Hange had my hand in hers pulling me along. "Make sure to pull your hood up, it looks like the rain's starting to come down harder!"
"Wait, you won't get in trouble?!" My stomach dropped, as I pulled my hood over my head, Levi was going to be pissed that I went around him like this.
"Meh, Levi is scary but he won't bite." How was she so unintimidated by him?! I felt her hand tighten around mine as we walked through thick mud, the rain now getting heavier. "Don't slip here, Levi would really be mad if we arrived covered in mud!"
