TWO YEARS LATER

Over the past two years, I had been in 'training', more like hell, with Levi, his teachings were so intense that I had gained three pounds of muscle in just eight days. That was just the beginning, Levi didn't let up on me for a second.

"Pull Aaltonen!" I grimaced aloud, even after two years of training Levi still found ways to challenge my physical and mental state. Today was a physical analysis, if Levi thought that I hadn't improved from last week, he would up the training intensity, which I was sure wasn't possible, but then again I had thought that before. Levi kept his hand on my ankle as I attempted to pull my chin over the bar, Levi pulled down on my leg, making it nearly impossible for me to pull myself up, he had a grip like death.

"Don't you think thats a little much Captain?" Petra spoke up her brows drawn together in worry as she eyed my reddening face.

"If she wants to even be considered for my squad she needs to show some effort."

"That's it," Petra shook her head, stepping forward as she uncrossed her arms, "Look at her face, she's giving it her all." Levi turned his face up to me, then breathed out through his nose, allowing a small grunt after. Levi jerked down on my foot, causing me to loose my grip and fall, I caught myself, something I had learned to do overtime with Levi's training sessions. I grimaced grabbing my ankle, damn he had sturdy grip. "Come on Quinn, lets get you some water." I stood, straightening my back as I eyed Levi,

"I'm sorry Captain, I'll do better next time."

"I'm sure you will." Captain Levi scowled, cleaning his hands with his handkerchief.

"You have more training with Shardis tomorrow, right?"Petra watched me as she began walking to my side.

"Yeah." I nodded as Petra placed her hand on my back tenderly, "Thirsty?"

"Very." I smiled laughing a bit. Petra laughed,

"Come on."

"I still think she has it easy." Auruo was leaning against a counter, his eyes darting to me as Petra and I entered the room. Petra shook her head, walking over to the sink and pumping a glass full of water. I lowered my head, Auruo was my superior, I couldn't speak out against him. I had been around Levi's squad for two years now, Auruo was the only one who refused to show any kindness to me, he was my comrade and he supported me out in Titan territory but here, here I was still the newbie, the outsider. That was another thing, Levi had been taking me out on expeditions outside the walls, the first year, he instructed me not to do anything unless it was extremely necessary,Levi just wanted me to observe and analyze the squads movement and trust, this year was all about doing. So far I had only killed three titans, one fifteen meter and two five meters, I had already completed five assists, one of which who was Auruo, of course he refused to admit it.

"Training done for today?" Auruo watched me, his mouth a flat line.

"Yeah, I have training with Shardis tomorrow."

"Well have fun with that." Petra rolled her eyes at Auruo's statement, "Y'know you have to rank top ten for Levi to recruit you."

"I'm aware."

"So she does talk." Auruo smiled a bit.

"Leave her be." Petra shook her head at Auruo, a small smile on

her face "You should get back to your barracks soon, its getting late." I nodded taking a long drink then walking to the sink and washing it, Levi did not like me 'dirtying' things. After thanking Petra for the water I headed to my barracks and went straight to bed, although I had been outside the walls and killed Titans, Captain Levi had made it clear that I would have to make the top ten to officially join his squad.
