"I never said that!" My voice echoed within the room. Why did I feel like I was yelling?!
"You didn't have to!" Hange smiled, playfully pushing Levi. He didn't budge. "Heeeyyyy, Levi! Why are you torturing her boyfriend?"
"Boyfriend?!" Logan laughed, his smile making my stomach flip. "Did you call me that?" Logan tilted his head, an eyebrow raised. I swallowed ready to shake my head when he smiled, then looked down, his face getting redder "I mean I don't mind-."
"Shut it." Levi's voice was low but his tone spared no venom. The sound of the rain was now loud compared to the silence of the room.
"Good Evening, Quinn," Commander Erwin greeted me, making me aware of his presence.
"Commander." I saluted, straightening my shoulders.
"Quinn." Erwin nodded to me, standing from his sitting position and offering me his seat. "Have a seat, you should be made aware of this too." I sat down in the chair, my position directly in front of Logan, his face was off-putting, he looked sad, he looked nervous.
"You look terrible." I chuckled a bit, trying to relieve some tension. He smiled a bit, still avoiding my eyes.
"Eh, I've been through worse." Logan shrugged, wincing as he did so.
"I doubt that," Levi spoke up, removing his apron. I rubbed my boots together, staring at them in embarrassment, the thunder now louder and closer than before. Why did I come again?
"I'm glad you're safe." I looked up, meeting Logan's gaze at his words, he was being genuine. I allowed myself to smile.
"Yeah, I'm good." I shifted in my seat, looking to Commander Erwin, only receiving a nod. I paused, waiting for him to speak when it was apparent he wasn't going to speak, I did.
"Logan-."
"Quinn." Logan began speaking just as I did. We both stopped talking, waiting to listen to the other. Hange snickered to herself,
"Levi, maybe we should leave the two to talk alone, eh?" Hange leaned on Levi, his face in more of a scowl than usual.
"Tch." Levi rolled his eyes moving away from Hange as he pulled up his hood, I'll be waiting right outside. Levi's attention was now back on Logan, "Don't think that I won't come back." With that Levi left, Hange and Erwin following.
"Quinn." Erwin nodded to me, placing his hand on my shoulder as he walked past me, "If you need anything, we're right outside." I gave a nod back.
"Yeah, thanks."
"Huh, surprised they left you alone with me." Logan watched them leave, leaning around me to get a better look. The sound of the large door shutting behind them.
"Well, you are tied to a chair." I leaned forward, letting out a sigh. Here we go. "Logan, I need you to tell me who sent you."
"I can't do that Quinn." I sighed at this reaction, the thunder much louder now. Levi's out in the rain waiting for me, I need to make this quick.
"Was his name Cecile?!" I felt my anger began to rise. Logan's eyes studied me closely.
"I don't know who that is." His tone was flat. Was he telling the truth? I pulled my brows together,
"Don't lie-."
"I won't, not to you." I paused at his words. He was looking away from me now, if I didn't know any better I would have thought he was blushing.
"So you won't lie," I sighed, crossing my arms and leaning back against my chair, "and you won't tell me who sent you, what will you tell me?"
"You're in danger-."
"You already said that in the letter Logan, I need something else." He was looking away from me again. "Do I know the person that sent you?" Logan shifted in his seat at my question. After a while, I spoke up again, "Where's Lily?" I looked around the room, not seeing her anywhere.
"They've got her in a cell somewhere, your Commander said she was safe." I leaned forward,
"Then, I'll just go ask her."
"Quinn, please don't."
"HAHA, you're embarrassed! Just admit it!" Hange's voice came in through the closed door, she really was loud. "You know you're going to have to let her date eventually!" Of all the things that they could be talking about. I rolled my eyes, I was surprised I could hear her over the rain. That's right, they probably can't hear us right now, visibility will also be low if the rain keeps up like this. If I could get him to take me now, we could get over this mystery crap. Damn it. I need to make sure they're not about to come back in.
"One second." I stood from my seat, making my way to the door as quietly as possible. The sound of Levi's voice came from the door, his words unintelligible Then Erwin spoke,
"We should also talk with his sister-."
"Commander!" A new frantic voice joined the conversation. "The girl, she's gone! "
"Tch." I could hear Levi's annoyance through the rain. There was silence, then Erwin spoke,
"Did she escape on her own?"
"No, sir! According to the MP's two people came and took her by force. "
"What do you want to do?" Levi questioned Erwin, his tone flat.
"We'll wait for them to reach out to us." Erwin paused, "For now, we'll tell the boy nothing." I stepped away from the door, my heart pounding. I looked back at Logan, his gaze focused on me. Shit.
"We have to go!" I ran back to Logan's position, removing Levi's knife from my boot.
"What happened?!" Logan's face was panicked, his eyes running over my facial expression. The rope made a small snapping noise as I ran the knife along it.
"Logan," I pulled him up onto his feet, "They've got Lily." Logan's face went through a range of emotions, fear, sadness, then anger.
"Help me, Quinn. If they know Levi and the others are coming too, they'll kill her. They're just using her as leverage to incentivize me to hand you over. Don't worry I won't let them hurt either of you, please Quinn!" Logan was now gripping my hand. I pulled my brows together, looking at his face. He was terrified.
"Let's go get your sister."
