I swallowed hard, I had never seen a Titan before, but I knew this one was enormous, his head was well over the wall. It's over fifty meters tall?! People were frozen in fear, crying, praying. I stood up, my knees shaking, I needed to get home now. I turned around swiftly, sprinting.
"Mom! Dad!"I screamed involuntarily. Where were they?! A loud boom reverberated throughout my body, the ground responded, quaking intensely, all of a sudden the ground was in my face and my hands stung from the impact. I looked over my shoulder, a large hole in the wall stared back at me. I stood quickly but my feet froze from under me, was this really happening? It couldn't be. I stood, rooted to the spot watching the large hole in silence, then a large smile came into the light, then the whole titan emerged.
"Run for your lives! People began panicking, pushing me out of there way.
"Quinn!" I turned around to find Jamie, her eyes wide with fear.
"Jamie!" I felt the tears coming, I ran to her. Jamie was one year older than me, she knew what to do, right?
"Do you have your gear?!" Jamie took my hand, pulling me into a sprint.
"No!" I yelled over the crowd of now screaming people.
"Where's the Military Police?!
"What happened to the Garrisons?!"
"Has anyone seen my daughter, please! Has anyone seen my baby?!" The air was suffocating, with the screams and cries of the soon to be victims of the Titans. I looked back to find a five meter, tearing a man in half with his teeth, the man still showing the pain on his face. My shoulders tensed, is this how we were going to die? Was this the end for all of us?!
"Don't look back Quinn! Don't you dare!" Jamie was yelling loudly now. Too late. Jamie tugged on my arm harder, turning the corner to my street.
"Mom!" I yelled, my voice cutting through my throat. My mother came out of the front door, her eyes wide.
"Quinn?! Thank God!"
"The Titans are coming!" Jamie huffed as we entered my home, escaping the stream of people, running for their lives, not soon after my father came through the door with my older brother Ace. I ran to him, burying my face in his chest, he returned my embrace,
"It's ok, every things going to be ok Quinn."
"We need to leave now, I have a friend, he says they're loading people onto the ferries, its the best chance they have."
"They?" I broke away from my brother, then looked between my mother and father, who seemed to be communicating through facial expressions. My mother began to cry, walking to my father and holding him tightly.
"Grams." My father hugged my mother back, watching my grandmother. "Get some food, nothing perishable, they'll be having food shortages. " My grandmother nodded hurriedly, racing to the kitchen." My mother tore herself away from my father, picking me up, why was she holding me like I was a baby?
"It's going to be ok my love, you'll be ok." My mother squeezed me sobbing.
"Lets go, NOW!" My fathers voice boomed, we were running again, my mother was carrying me, following my brother and Father, my grandmother ran beside us, carrying the bag of food. The ferries were now in sight, crowds of people swarmed to board them. My father turned to face us, "Grams, you need to keep the food concealed, people will be hungry and will be willing to do anything for it." My grandmother nodded, pulling the bag of food into her cloak. With people rushing to get on, it didn't take us long to reach the front of the line.
"No belongings! We need as much space as possible, leave your belongings!" A Garrison shouted over the crowd, his face turning redder with each word. Ace shifted, stuffing something into his cloak.
