"Bad don't freak out, okay? But you know how I told you about...me having a girlfriend back before we met?"
Bad nodded "yeah, I remember you mentioning it. What's that got to do with anything?"
"Well...she has a child. She found out awhile after we broke up." Skeppy wanted Bad to catch on by himself.
"Okay? Wait..."
"She had told me at the time that she was cheating on me, and it wasn't mine." Skeppy didn't hold any grudges over her cheating, he had been moved on for a long time. "So I didn't think anything of it. Though she sent me a letter a week ago, saying she got in a fight with her husband. Apparently they did a DNA test because the husband didn't think the baby looked like him. They found out the kid isn't his..."
"Skeppy, did you and her have sex around the time she got pregnant?" Bad had entered serious mode. This would be a big deal if Skeppy had a biological child.
"I don't remember, it was years ago...but it's a possibility? She claims I'm the only other man she's been with." Skeppy looked away shamefully.
"I...Skeppy, what?!"
"Don't get mad at me! It was way before we met, and I only recently found out!"
Bad huffed and stood up from the garden table. "You should of told me a week ago when you found out! Oh my goodness...Do you genuinely think she's being honest?"
"I mean...yeah? I was doing intimate stuff with her back before I met you..."
Bad facepalmed and took a deep breath. "Without any sort of protection?"
"Bad I didn't even know what a condom was until you told me. I thought you had to be married in order to get pregnant, at the time." Skeppy admitted to his lack of information.
"Oh my- Skeppy! You'll have to get a DNA test and find out if the baby is yours. You'll have to pay child support too, that's probably her main concern right now." Bad crossed his arms and looked away from Skeppy. He didn't want to get too angry. At least Skeppy told him, and seemed to be ready to take responsibility. "You know...you're probably going to want to be involved in their life, if the kid is yours. You'll never be able to have a biological child with me."
Skeppy rubbed his eyes and sighed. "I don't want to be in his life, he's never even met me. He doesn't have to know the truth, if I'm his dad. I'll just pay her whatever money she needs."
"Skeppy I can't believe you might have a biological child...that's just...dammit." Bad cursed, showing Skeppy that he wasn't handling it well.
Skeppy got up and hugged Bad. "It doesn't change anything. I still love you and Duckie. I won't be involved in the other kid's life. All I have to do is send his mom money."
Bad hugged back. "Sorry, it's just really getting under my skin. A woman having your child is like the most intimate thing that can happen. I wish we could have biological kids."
"I...yeah, but I don't love her Bad. I was just childish and reckless. I wanted to try something scandalous. Plus, I used to be attracted to men and women...now it's just you. No one else is attractive. We have Duckie, and he's all we need." Skeppy tried to make his husband feel better.
"I guess you're right...I hope this doesn't cause too much trouble. Do you know his name? Did she tell you anything about the kid?"
"His name is Jackson, he's nearly 5. His birthday is in a week."
"Awe...that's a cute name." Bad took a couple deep breaths. "If he's yours, I won't be mad if you want to spend time with him. Duckie wouldn't mind a step-brother."
