Bad cuddled with Skeppy for awhile, giving him reassuring kisses. "Are you feeling better? I need to go downstairs and handle some things. Jackie and Drista are down there alone."
Skeppy sat up quickly, remembering his daughter. "Fuck-" he got up and ran downstairs to Jackie. Drista was gone, but he didn't care.
"Jackie honey, did she hurt you?" Skeppy checked the child for bruises or signs of being hit.
"No...she was nice."
"I doubt that." Skeppy picked up his daughter and rocked her protectively.
"Are you feeling okay daddy?"
"Yes baby girl, thank you." Skeppy put her back down. "How about we go get some fresh air? We can go out into the garden and look for butterflies."
"Yay!" Jackie cheered, and watched Bad walk into the dinning room. "Can Bad come too?"
Bad smiled "uh..." He realized Drista was gone. "Sure I'll join you, just give me a second."
"Okay, we'll meet you out by the fountain." Skeppy told him, and took Jackie upstairs to get ready for outside.
Bad went to find Drista, wanting to confirm he heard what he thought he heard her say. Something about marriage.
He found her in her room, brushing her hair casually. Bad sighed in relief, happy that she wasn't setting the place on fire. "Hey, I see you didn't finish your breakfast."
"I know, I just don't want to get sick again." Drista admitted and braided her hair to one side. It was one of the only hairstyles her mom liked her to wear.
"Okay, at least you ate something..." Bad thought of a causal way to bring up marriage. "Me and Skeppy were talking about our wedding day...how do you feel about weddings?"
Drista made a disgusted face in the mirror. It was the only thing in the room she didn't shatter. "I don't care about weddings, I hate attending them."
"Yeah, they can get a bit emotional. Will you go to Dream's wedding if he gets married?" Bad had gotten letters from Dream in the past, talking about a prince he wished to marry someday.
"Probably not...but maybe, if he marries George."
Bad smiled, knowing she hadn't been corrupted by homophobia. "If you don't attend his, he won't attend yours someday."
Drista paused, and looked down at herself. "My wedding will probably be private anyway."
"Yeah, you want a private wedding?"
"No, I don't want a wedding at all!"
"Okay- calm down, I'm sorry."
"If Dream is at my wedding, he'll probably by the one holding me down. While they force the ring on my finger." She clearly thought Dream was a lot more cruel than he was.
"I- I don't think...Drista, are your parents trying to do an arranged marriage for you?" Bad knew how it felt. Before he was lucky enough to meet Skeppy, his parents tried to force different princesses on him.
Drista looked at Bad, determining if she trusted him or not. "I guess that's what you'd call it."
Bad's heart filled with empathy. Suddenly all her bad behavior made sense to him. "Is that why you're rebelling against your parents?"
Drista shrugged, she didn't understand why she did the things she did.
Bad shook his head in disbelief. "Okay, don't worry. Now that we know the problem, we can fix it." Bad tried to come up with the next step to take, to get Drista home again. "I'm going to go outside with Skeppy and Jackie. You should head to the library and write to Dream. Tell him about the marriage, the corset, and anything that is bothering you. I promise you he'll write back. He'll be coming back for you as soon as he finds out."
