I was expecting it to take longer to get everyone that usually comments on this story to vote, but you are speedy ones. So I decided to just write this chapter a lot sooner than I was going to. I was bored, and couldn't sleep.
Bad sat with Skeppy at the table, eating cereal. While Skeppy had an omelette. His omelette was a little cold, but he didn't complain. He understood now that Sam tried his best, and he should be grateful.
Skeppy smiled at Bad. "I'm happy that you're still eating."
Bad smiled back. "Thanks, eating is important...is Jackie really still asleep? You should go get her."
"Good idea, I don't want her to miss breakfast entirely." Skeppy got up and went upstairs. He went to Jackie's room, and knocked before entering. "Are you awake?" Jackie didn't reply, so Skeppy went and shook her awake softly.
Jackie whined and rolled over, pushing his hand away.
"Good morning princess, are you hungry?"
Jackie rubbed her eyes and yawned. "I'm sleepy."
"I know, but you should come down and eat."
She sat up and hugged Skeppy. "Okay, can I have cereal?"
"Yeah, come on." Skeppy picked her up, and put her on the floor. "I'm sorry again for not getting you that pony."
"It okay, I'm too little anyway."
"Yeah...I promise I'll get you one soon though, okay?"
"Thanks daddy..." She hugged Skeppy again. Jackie wasn't used to this level of spoiling.
They went downstairs together and sat at the table. Skeppy noticed Bad was staring at something across the room, so he also looked across the room. Duckie's highchair was at the back of the dinning room, no longer in use.
Skeppy reached over and touched Bad's hand, making him jump out of his thoughts.
"Sorry, did you need me?" Bad looked at him.
"Jackie is up, she wants cereal." Skeppy helped her push in her chair.
"Of course" Bad stood up and got a bowl of cereal for his soon to be adopted daughter. Biologically she was only Skeppy's, but Bad could adopt her legally, and be considered her dad as well.
Jackie smiled and started eating. "Thanks Bad, mommy never got cereal."
Bad smiled knowing Jackie was at least happy, even if she didn't want to accept him as a dad yet. "No problem little muffin."
Jackie looked up at Bad, then leaned in close to Skeppy. "He says muffin a lot...what a weirdo." She whispered.
Skeppy started laughing. "Jackie, be nice."

After breakfast, Bad got ready to head up to the library. "Hey Skeppy, do you want to help me write a condolences letter? It should be from both of us."
"Sure" Skeppy agreed.
"What's condonutlances?" Jackie asked.
"Condolences" Bad corrected her and giggled. "Don't worry about it."
Skeppy led Jackie up to her room so she could play. Then he joined Bad in the library.
"So have you decided who needs you most?"
Bad shrugged and sat down in the chair. "I think so, take a seat."
Skeppy walked over and sat on Bad's lap. "Who are you going to respond to? Obviously you aren't going to the funeral."
